Though I was hunting for stones, I fell madly in love with this ring at Intergem last weekend. 2.49ct Morganite center with 0.27tdw halo, set in 14K rose gold. I've been a pretty devoted white gold/palladium person, and this is my first rose gold ring - I was surprised by how much I liked it on my hand.

Disclaimer - this is the ONLY picture I've been able to get that shows the color of the stone. It completely grays out on my camera in most lighting, which has been frustrating. It's such a pretty, subtle, but sparkly ring in person.

Holding it...here the color looks so washed out, I'm thinking it was overpowered by the sunlight in my office.

And now for some hand shots. Which has also shown me that I need to be better about using hand lotion, my hands are so dry and wrinkly!

Lastly, with one of my stackers. It's so depressing how gray the stone looks in these photos when it is not at all. It's not the most vivid stone, but in person the effect is a peachy pink several shades darker than my skin tone, so with the rose gold, the overall effect is a very 'tonal' ring that goes with my coloring but also has presence. Wish I could get better pics!

How pretty is that? And what a great color for a morganite! I can see why you fell in love. Can I ask which vendor you bought it from?

Oh wow!! I love that!

That is outstanding! I love the EW orientation, plain shank, basket details - it's fabulous!

Thanks so much! The vendor was Hubert Gems....'Hubert, Inc' on the receipt. They were very nice and accomodating. And for anyone interested, they had two other morganite rings with the same color tone and rose gold. One was an E/W marquise, also halo-ed. The other was an oval N/S, possibly halo-ed (can't quite recall) with a mix of rose and white gold.

I was really impressed with their whole booth actually, almost everything was gorgeously made and great color/cuts (to my eye) on the gem stones. They had a GORGEOUS cushion yellow zircon in a halo with pave on the band. It could have passed for a yellow diamond.

oooooh!!! VERY NICE!!! I love the soft pink hue of the stone you found! and in that halo --- AWESOME! very delicate yet substantial at the same time, kwim? It looks lovely on you - and your hands look PERFECT compared to my old lady claws! ;))

REALLY nice! I also like the E-W orientation, and think it looks great on your hand. I may be venturing outside of white metals soon, too! :)

That is really, really lovely. I'm starting to almost favor E/W rings - that is just beautiful with the rose gold and that beautiful gallery. I don't think I would've passed that up either.

HI:

Fabu!!

cheers--Sharon

I'll preface this with saying I'm not a fan of morganite... but WOW! This ring may sway my preference towards liking morganite a little more :D

Congrats!

Great find! It is SO pretty. I love morganite. The halo is just right-sized diamonds & love the rose gold with it.

That's lovely!! Rose gold and morganite is one of my favorite combos!

I can see why you fell in love with it. The rose gold and morganite are perfect together!

It's just beautiful! Feminine and looks perfect on your finger!

Thanks so much athenaworth, Rosebloom, Enerchi, NKOTB, minousbijoux, canuk-gal, davi-el-major, JewelFreak, bastetcat, Alistra, and FrekeChild!!!!

davi, I wasn't really a fan of morganite either til I saw this ring! :)

Thanks for the comments on the halo, JewelFreak! This is actually my first halo ring too...I lurked a long time on PS before joining, and was somewhat worn out by all the halos on PS but now I see why everyone loves em! They really make colored stones pop :)

Wow-what a perfect combo! Love the ring and love it on you-just gorgeous!
Wear in health and happiness!!

Ooh, so pretty and feminine! Congrats on a lovely ring!

Beautiful ring. The stone has such a lovely pastel color. It really matches well the tone of your skin.

It's good to see a morganite that isn't as pale as skin. I can actually see the pink, which is great, and the EW halo is well suited to it. If you didn't mention the rose gold metal, I would never have noticed it. Congrats on your lovely new ring.

I'm a complete idiot!!! I read the thread title and then didn't read anything else but started looking at the photos. I went down a bit and somebody said "Morganite" and I thought "No it isn't! That's a Kunzite" until I went back and read properly! What a superb looking stone (and setting that compliments it really well). This is a very gorgeous stone and incredibly pretty. Enjoy wearing it!

Very pretty. Great color.

Thanks so much missy, Laila, Arkteia, Chrono, LD, and marcy!!!

Chrono and LD, it's so interesting to hear your feedback because right after I told them I'd buy the ring, the second booth guy came over and 'congratulated' me on picking out the stone (air quotes because it's funny to be congratulated on giving someone a bunch of money :) ) . He brought out a tray and said that morganite is often peach in color so to have a pink one makes it more valuable. The tray had a bunch of peach morganites next a bunch of -- lookin at you LD -- kunzites, and my stone definitely looked more like the kunzites.

Anyway, you guys are good! I didn't know anything about morganite going in, and I don't tend to make that a habit when buying a piece, but it's nice to know he wasn't necessarily just buttering me up so I'd be a return customer :)
