Nope, I don’t cancel, but I do think it’s been quiet here. Perhaps summer is playing a part in that…
 
Are you looking for honesty here? I guess so since you started the the thread.

I had you on ignore for a while, I found some things you wrote to be quite brutal towards others and it bothered me. However I’ve realized that sometimes people come off a certain way and may not mean to upset others, I am guilty of this myself IRL.

Even if you were “cancelled” what does it really matter? Do you care what those people think about you? I’ve decided both on and off PS that the people who want to cancel me (or however you want to put it) don’t matter to me one bit. If being my authentic self doesn’t jive with the majority, I’m okay with it, I’ll put that energy into the people who do like me.

ETA: It is a lot less active here since politics and contentious threads have been banned. A bit boring even, maybe people here are uninspired and not really around or responding as much. Just a thought.
 
This thread troubles me. I am admittedly clueless as to why you would have been canceled. Perhaps it is because I am not so active here, or perhaps it is because I am someone who is usually interested in hearing many different perspectives on a given topic. Any topic really. I do not get offended easily at all.

What troubles me is that you're worried about being canceled in an online jewelry forum. I feel that cancel culture has gotten extreme and I'm hoping we can find our way back. If and when people are becoming THAT outraged on a jewelry website to engage in canceling, and suppression of free speech to preserve their own feelings-- when humans are literally being blown up and bombed in other parts of the world--it troubles me. Maybe I am blowing this out of proportion, if that is the case then I apologize. As I said before I am not acutely aware of whatever you've been saying that would be offensive.

I have not been here as much lately, but that's temporary.
Your one of my favorite people and I'm sad you feel like your ignored.
Did I miss something? When I am here its mostly to run through RT and MMD.
 
Never have I cancelled anyone! You are part of the authenticity I love here on PS. It is very quiet lately. I suppose people are out living, having experiences, rather than consuming.

I don't have you on ignore. but I find you are uncalled for nasty, I also think that when a person keeps saying they don't care what others say, ( no biggie) then frankly I don't care what they say. I care what people do think. I don't care about the people in Pakastan , or everyone, but it seems so disrespectful for people to continually say this.(there is one other). This isn;t like people pleaser, just some respect, please. I do really think you are smart. I like how you post=its original. But you don't care--I don't care.

No, Kenny, I have never had you on ignore. I found yesterday that eight random people were apparently being ignored by me - you were not one of them. Ella helped me fix it and it was rather counterintuitive but whatever - done now. I don’t know how that happened as I will not ignore anyone on this forum. I presume I did something unintentionally but it is fixed now.

You and I had a few words years ago. I am well beyond that now as we both spoke our minds. I am not a thin skinned person either but there are limits. I appreciate your intelligence and straightforward approach although I don’t agree with everything you say. I am sure you feel the same way. I choose to let it go - as you have often stated, people vary and we are all entitled to our own opinions. If we want ours respected, we have to give that respect in return.

PS has been slow for some time and summer probably adds to it. I miss the vigor that the posting once had here and sincerely hope it returns. Pandemic and war have surely put a damper on diamond availability and purchasing. I wish for better days!
 
I've never put anyone on "ignore" -- and I would never put you @kenny on Ignore -- I appreciate your contributions -- even if I don't always agree completely with what you say, you are honest and your POV deserves my respectful consideration -- FWIW I sorely miss the DF/Kenny exchanges...
 
I don't put people on ignore. I wouldn't be surprised if I was some ignore lists though, *sniff* I'm an acquired taste:lol:
It's slow because of Summer and if you're in the US there is lots going on just now and I've certainly been busy talking about/following that. That's taking up what little free time I have. Other things have my attention. I do quick stop-bys. It's sad, because I'd love to talk to people about it, whether they hold the same views or not. It's momentous, historic and there are a lot of minds I would hear from.
We're hamstrung into silence here.
Thems the rules.

Off topic, I’m curious about what is momentous and historic going on in the USA at this very moment. I’m on the West side of the country so people don’t really talk politics!

on topic, I didn’t know and don’t know how to put people on ignore. I’m likely being ignored!
 
I spend most of my time elsewhere discussing a broad range of topics including those that aren't permitted here. When I come here, I scan the discussions and usually find nothing to which I'd like to respond. PS has become an intellectual desert.

I’m the exact opposite. I go online for light-hearted entertainment, and stay away from contentious topics or threads, because I just want to decompress after a day of work and look at lovely bling and join in some fun chitchat. As Kenny would say: “people vary”. No canceling for me.

I don’t think people on PS get “cancelled” however if you go against the majority opinion here you are certainly more likely to become an outcast.

There is one person here who I talked to in the past, who shared the same views as me (mostly pandemic related, Covid vaccine etc) and admitted that she would never express those views on PS because then she would loose all of her friends here. That just goes to show you how real the threat of being an outcast is for some.

This is another reason that I so admired Dancing Fire’s threads, he would throw something out there that would get people all worked up, it took guts and he would do it over and over.

This is the perfect place for you then. It is exactly what those who hated the political and religious threads wanted. The irony is that when the loudest of those voices got what they wanted, they stopped posting. I have no issue whatsoever with the topics posted in Hangout. I simply find most of them of little interest to me. I check in periodically because there are posters here of whom I'm fond, of which Kenny is one, and I want to keep updated on what's happening in their lives. I've been here 20 yrs and while some of the changes that have occurred across the site make me sad, I have an unwavering loyalty to PS.
 
I have one person on ignore and that’s not you. I think mostly it’s missing dancing fire, and the banter with him that you used to have that’s made it seem like you’re being ignored. You need a new sidekick.

This, and I just read some very interesting news about the Freedom movie that just came out that I wanted to share...only to find that thread closed because, reasons. If anyone is interested: it's about one of the funders being charged with exactly what you think.

Even quieter since the politics and stuff was banned then certain topics were allowed but only if you held a certain
view. Agree or not, it was overwhelming for a bit and some number probably left quietly or just don't post much anymore.
 
You’re one of the reasons I visit PS daily @kenny. I care about a number of people here and while PS has changed quite a bit since I joined many years ago I still enjoy spending time here. Albeit not as much time as I used to
