Hi Pricescope fam—y’all have been so helpful as I’ve been reading and learning about lab diamonds. I think I’m ready to purchase and would love the help of the experts. This is what I’m looking for:

Ideally I’d like a 2.5-3.5 carat round H&A. As close to super ideal as possible. I have been prepared to pay for a branded stone, but after seeing the experts work magic on here, I think I can probably get an amazing stone for less than branded pricing. I’m willing to try!

I’m not color sensitive, but do not want blue nuance or brown tint in the diamond. Then obviously am looking for a clean and clear material.

Would really like ASET images for my peace of mind. I have a natural BGD signature, and I want something that compares.

Clarity Id like to keep anything VS or better. My natural is an SI1 and I can see the inclusion and it does bug me sometimes.

Finally, I’d like to try and keep price at or below $2500, but can be flexible. If at the end of the day the best option is, say, a Whiteflash branded stone, I’ll look at that. Max is probably going to be $3000 total with no less than a 2.2 carat.

This is probably going to be my last upgrade for decades so I gotta make it count and really want size and sparkle! Im excited to look at options and really appreciate the help.

Hello, BarbieB!
You going to be on the forum for a little while? I'll start posting cert numbers that you can search at the popular online sellers and try to get one purchased, if so.

Gotta run the kids to practice but will be back on later tonight and will tag you if that’s ok!

@DejaWiz I’m around if you’ve got some options, I’ll take a look!

@DejaWiz any preference on your end? I think I like the 2.65 (bc the ASET image), the 3.49 or 3.64…. Is the 2.65 pulling brown or could that be my screen? I’ll be honest I don’t really know what to look for except I know I like fatter arrows!

I think the 2.65 is a victim of environmental reflection - something in the immediate vicinity (probably a shirt) is brown or beige, I'm thinking.

Between those three, my personal ranking would be:
3.49
3.64
2.65

Thank you @DejaWiz ! Before I pull the trigger, any other options in the 2.5-3 range by chance? I’m going from a 1.2 round so I’m trying to mull over if 3.5 is too big. Not that there’s really a thing, but I don’t want it to appear “fake” if that makes sense.

Oh yes, lots to pick from in the 2.5-3 range for your budget:

@DejaWiz thank you!

You're very welcome!
What do you think of this one?

You can compare sizes and get a rough visual between your existing diamond and any other size at the www.DiamDB.com site.

That one looks really pretty and it has the fat arrows!

I honestly don’t know what to look for. I’m a little nervous to get one without an ASET image, but the ones I’ve found with ASET images look tinted. I pulled the one you suggested from my last thread (price went up some, that’s what I get I guess!) and it seems like that one looks tinted too.

Size wise, I used the tool and the difference in a 1.2 to a 3.5 looked like a ring pop to me
lol! I also live in the Midwest where most don’t have over .75 carats, so my 1.2 is considered “big”. But, I have DSS and I’ve followed Pricescope for a decade so I’m ready for a jump-just possibly not a 3.5 jump. I think around that 2.7-2.8 would probably be a good sweet spot. Even a 3 will be good I think.

I really do like those fat arrows on the one you just posted. I assume it’s a “clean” stone?

The ones with the GIA+AGS reports all seem to have been photographed in a different studio setup/environment than the other diamonds.

My wife and I are in the heartland of the Midwest and she gets compliments all the time on her 1.69 and 2.76 - either are large diamonds, given that the average is about 1 carat here in the US.
You can always test drive a diamond for a handful of days and send it back for a refund/exchange if you feel that a change in the diameter is needed.

Yes, absolutely...I do my best to make sure I'm not recommending diamonds with any diamond crystal quality defects or cut precision issues.
If it's not a diamond that I would be willing to present to my own dear wife, then I will not recommend it anyone else. All of them I have listed above are Mrs DejaWiz worthy LOL!

You’re a rockstar, thank you SO much!! Great idea about test driving…. I’ll potentially do that. I have an ideal scope and could get an ASET too to look at it when it comes in.

You totally get the Midwest then! That’s why I was thinking big but not unbelievably big lol.

I’ll be looking and let you know what I end up with, or reach out for more thoughts!

@DejaWiz i think I have it narrowed down. Can you let me know when you’re on here (I’ll keep checking back in), and I will post the links and ask for help in which one?

Hi, BarbieB - I'm here now

Either are going to knock your socks off!
Whichever one is grabbing your attention more, then snag it ASAP before another holiday buyer scoops it up.

@DejaWiz thank you! I had the first one in my cart ready to go if you gave the “ok”. I couldn’t really believe the price so I thought definitely worth a try! Crossing my fingers it all goes smooth, the order has been placed!

I plan on hopefully getting the diamond with no issues, and then sending to David Klass after the holidays to set it!

I’m just going to cross my fingers it’s actually available and ships. If not, we will go back to the drawing board I guess!

Update: loose grown diamond said they secured the stone and are shipping it to me. Eeekk! Now to wait. I’m going to inspect it and then send off to David Klass for the setting. He’s going to do a cushion shaped halo with a plain shank. Now to obsess over all the PS pictures while I wait…

I'm excited for you! I went with a cushion-shaped halo with a plain shank too, so can't wait to see yours!

@Kim N yours is one of my inspirations! It’s likely one of the most beautiful rings I have ever ever seen

Update! The diamond shipped from NYC today. Crossing my fingers that it gets here safely no issues and maybe before Christmas!

Well, it’s here! Immediate thoughts are that I’m not exactly sure… I’m trying to pinpoint what it is that I am not gelling with on this diamond. I’ll attach some pics which aren’t great albeit.

When I compare to my natural BGD signature, the lab looks for lack of a better word… fake? Maybe it’s the color difference because my natural is an I and this is an F? I feel like my BGD diamond has more fire and looks crisper but more alive if you will. The lab has perfect arrows I will say that!

These are terrible photos and don’t really demonstrate what I’m seeing IRL. I’ll have to think on it but I may be sending back and going the Whiteflash amount. Which will be 4x the amount that I paid for this so I gotta think through it….

Ok I might be delulu. It literally could be the sheer size that is throwing me off. I welcome any sane people popping in to offer thoughts lol
