Hi everyone, me again!

Online diamond shopping has been so overwhelming but I’m so glad I’ve found this community. You have all been so helpful.

These are the two im deciding between and hoping to get your votes/opinions

I am considering going lower on the clarity/color for the bigger size.. but only on the condition that this is an eye clean si1 that will not be visually unappealing!
I just wanted to get your opinions that I’m making an okay decision lol and if I’m making the right choice sacrificing color/clarity for size or vice versa

2) https://www.yadavjewelry.com/diamond/round-diamond-1.23-carat-j-si1-yd9378617

(Thank you @mwilliamanderson for this suggestion)

Regarding the inclusions for #2, they’ve said “the needles are very low relief (fade into the background of the diamond)”
But that if you stare at the diamond long enough u may be able to see the inclusions..

Thank you!!!

The I color stone is not well cut. The J is cut better, but are you okay with J color? Most people can start seeing the tint at J color. I can really see the tint in the video.

The parameters for helping choose one of the better GIA Excellent cut stones are:

table: 54-57 (or 58 )

depth: 60-62.3

Crown angle: 34-35.0 (up to 35.5 can work with a 40.6 pavilion angle)

pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9

Maybe try searching a little more using these ranges.

I see both of your diamond choices are from Yadav; they’re one of the vendors that appear in the RareCarat search engine. If you click advanced filters on their search engine, you can specify table, crown, pavilions and depth. I agree with @diamondseeker2006 that if you stick to those parameters, you’ll be more likely to pick diamond with a great cut (which based off your previous posts was the most important feature to you ).

Hi there, sorry I should’ve noted that the pavilion on the website is incorrect. It’s actually 40.8 (in the GIA cert) so seems like cut wise..both diamonds seem pretty close

Hi there, the Pavillion for #1 is actually 40.8 so I thought both were pretty close cut wise..

I used the cut estimator on diamond screener and it seemed like both are ideal/excellent range

I think @flyingpig mentioned that the I VS1 doesn't have any leakage. the J has a knot which I wouldn't be comfortable with.

Something to consider when selecting a lower color. Look for one with medium fluorescence. I recently upgraded to a larger diamond and I went up on the clarity scale from SI1 to a VS2 and went down from an H color, no fluorescence to a K color, medium fluorescence. I took a chance and it ended up being a gorgeous stone! My hubby said it looks whiter than my H stone did. You can save a lot of money by looking at stones with fluorescence even if you want to go with a J or an I color range. Use the PriceScope parameters to find an ideal cut. The cut is key! Also, use the HCA calculator on PriceScope to weed out any poorly cut stones.

Good luck with your search. Folks on this website are a huge help!

Here is my new beauty. 2.03, K VS2, XXX, medium florescence set in classic six prong platinum setting, size 5.5.
