PS Team,
Any idea on differences between Ideal Loupe (see link attached) vs. Ideal Scope. A local jeweler had us examine a diamond using the Idela Loupe. All the arrows were white when examining under this loupe. Any ideas why?

Thank you!

Thank you!

The Stuller device you linked-to is a Hearts & Arrows viewer. It permits the viewer to see some elements of cut-precision, but tells nothing about light-return, which is much more important.

The arrows you saw were white because the viewer's top glass, elevated above the rest of the body, permits white light to enter from above. That white light is reflected back to your eye by the pavilion mains (seen as the arrows); the bottom-most facets in the diamond. The red filament paper on the sides colors light entering from the sides as red.

Thanks very much John!
