Hello,
My first post on this forum but have been reading a lot the last month.
I am in the process of buying an engagement ring for my girlfriend and learned a lot about diamonds reading this forum.
Because I have finally found a stone I feel comfortable with concerning specs I requested the Ideal Scope image.
This stone is a True Hearts 0.61ct at James Allen. I color VS2.
The HCA index on it is 0.7.
Now I have been sent this IS image. Can any of you please comment on it because I find it difficult to read anything from it.
Thank you in advance.

It looks fantastic, should be a beautiful stone!

Yummy!

If you look at several True Hearts stones, you'll see that all the idealscope images are similar! That is what a great IS image looks like!

Thank you all. I will order this one. I hope the I color will still look white enough in a platinum setting but according to everything I read on here that is most likely not a problem.

The IS is beautiful...should look perfectly white.

But the symmetry looks wonky. (Table off center and the stone a bit out of round as well.) I dunno if you'd be able to see it in the actual stone, which is so much smaller, but I would stare at the stone long and hard knowing that the symmetry is off and make sure you're OK with it. You wouldn't want to buy the stone and have the symmetry come up as an issue at a later time.

ETA: I've never actually bought from IS images...so if this is a definite non-issue, please accept my apologies!

What are you talking about?!? If the symmetry was "off" the IS wouldn't look so perfect. OP - I think the IS looks beautiful!

I think the stone is tilted a little in the IS image or the camera was off center. These are generally taken in a little lighted device with a divet for the stone to sit in. The Idealscope fits over it. It is very easy to tilt or shift the stone. I took several of these pics when I was looking for my stone and if you even get a little off center in the photography or if the stone shifts, it'll look or be tilted or wonky.

Roel- if it bugs you, as the gemologist about it. Right hand side in the IS image (which otherwise looks great!). A couple of arrows look a little shorter but I seriously doubt it could happen in a H/A stone. Or, if you have the stone safely on hold, post the link to it here and we can look at it further.

Here's an image of a stone I took sometime last year and you can see I kind of did the same thing:

Thank you again.
I ordered it already so the picture on JA is gone.
According to the GIA report the the symmetry is excellent so I think the pic might have been taken tilted. Maybe that's also the reason why some of those arrows appear shorter? The price I paid for this TrueHearts 0.61ct , I color, VS2 was 1700 us dollar. I still think I got a good deal but will let you know once I receive the diamond.
I also received a hearts picture for it:

Post some pics for us once you get it!

It looks phenomenal - it will be gorgeous IRL!!

OK, tilted it is. Hearts are gorgeous!

Sorry for the unnecessary scare and congrats again!!!
