Hi All,
I've been on a hiatus from CS purchases because I've been trying to save $ and have been making some moissanite purchases that were a long time coming. But recently I've caught the CS bug again, and wanted some ideas.

I'm trying to keep it relatively low cost, so will likely be working in silver and buying less pricey stones. Here are some ideas I have:

This red rubellite surrounded by some colorful melee stones (like these tsavorites), to make something fun and colorful. Or I could go bigger and do a double halo with both the tsavorites and these lighter rhodolite garnetsil_570xN.1137302460_gwg6.jpg

The other idea is about moonstone. I'm thinking about making a cluster-style ring with rainbow/blue moonstone. Maybe surrounded by either aquamarine or the tsavorites above?

Anyone have thoughts? Inspiration posts? Other suggestions?

Those aquas look quite nice!
May I ask where you purchased them? I have bought a couple in the past but they were terrible.

They are on Etsy, but I haven't purchased them yet so I can't speak to quality, sorry!

Sounds like a fun and great idea!

Just some interesting pictures of rings with design ideas....
I think the asymmetrical opal ring could work with an elongated moonstone and various side stones....and the other opal ring has a fun play of design and color..the others are more traditional.

Those aquas are so pretty and I like your rubellite. I think you can have lots of fun playing with affordable stones and silver settings. I look forward to what you create!

I copied Bron's picture to show you what she has from her treasure trove find. If you like I can send you some...The blues would look great with the moonstones. There's pinks and a luscious blue-green as well. Let me know...
She sent me these for just this reason. If a PSer needed some then they would already be here in the US. @Bron357 is a super cool lady.

ohhh @suzanne2 @Bron357 that would be amazing! I'm still deciding between moonstones for the center. Talking to some etsy vendors--but want to be 100% sure about the size of the center stone before buying melee. Do you know the mm size of those? I love the blue, and green, and red!

I have calipers and I'll try for measurements today but I'm super busy. Tomorrow or the next day for sure. Sorry about that. I put a ad on Loupe Troop for "Calling Soon2bmrsFredericks", can you email me from there? Lots of different sizes...

Emailed via LT--let me know if you don't see it. Sometimes their message system is weird.

Didn't get anything...I'll edit listing for my email...

I just noticed that Yvonne has hauynes back in stock. I love the combination of hauyne with moonstone as hauynes really enhance the blue sheen of the moonstone (although mine is more opaque so not sure how they would go with the clearer ones)

I tried to take some pics with the melee around a moonstone I have floating around. I am a TERRIBLE photographer, as these will show. (They are even out of focus...)

Of course the color doesn't reflect what I see. The melee are rich, saturated and beautiful. I have about 3 different sizes in the red, the rest are one size only.

@suzanne2 they are all awesome! I especially love the last 2 (green and yellow green), but the first and second are great too! The only one I feel like doesn't quite work is the pink stones (but the red ones in the first pic are awesome). Thanks! I'm talking to @Burmesedaze 's vendor about specific moonstone choices, so hopefully I'll have pics of the exact stone soon!

Oh man I love moonstones. I bought a moonstone ring set in argentium silver in Salem today!

If you know any good custom silversmiths for jewelry could you send them my way? I'm trying to cut costs on jewelry too, especially silver I won't wear every day and white gold prices are through the roof!

Yesssss! My favorite silver jeweler. She's who made my ring that I posted on "what are you araring" yesterday (the garnet/zircon ring)

Oh wow this is amazing thank you!!!
I have 3 rings from her, all of which I adore. I'm likely going to have her set whatever moonstone I get as well. Also check out her website. I think I've posted pics of all the rings she's made for me somewhere on PS collage_2016-09-16_17_52_07.jpg20180703_232343.jpg

the third one is made with moissanite so I can't post on here, but is also lovely.

Wow these are so gorgeous! I love the weight and feel of silver.

Some fun updates from the vendor I've been speaking with.

Going to have them set the rubellite stone with a halo of tsavorite in silver. Its a total gamble since I've never worked with them before, but a (relatively) cheap one. Happy to share the name of the vendor if all goes well.

For the moonstone, I'm trying to decide whether I like it with iolite or aqua melee...anyone have thoughts?IMG-20180709-WA0000.jpg

This is certainly not the same high quality moonstone as from @Burmesedaze contacts--im still trying to decide if I want to spend the necessary $$ to get a super high quality one vs. some cheaper fun stones :)

I prefer with the aqua. It goes with the liquid, moonlight feel of the moonstone better imho.

If I have to pay a few hundred for a moonstone, I'd save it for a pendant. They are really too soft as rings, except to be worn sparingly and carefully.

The yellowish stones catch my eye.

I'm sorry, but you can't change stones on us. We are committed to the moonstone. The tourmaline is beautiful!!! So, do you want a halo for this one? It's a beautiful color and needs something fabulous that showcases it!

I don't know what I want to do with this one yet! I want to see it in person to figure out what metal I want to set it in/whether I want a halo for it, etc. If I want a halo I will likely try to find something from Ivy and Rose, since their settings are (usually) fairly affordable.

Omg! I was totally eyeing that one! Glad you got it. What a fantastic stone!!!
