Ideas for moonstone or other CS ring?

So after I bought the tourmaline from @colorluvr I made the big "flaming red/jedi" spinel purchase, and originally decided to re-list it so someone else could enjoy it. However, I got too sad at the thought of having to send it away, so decided to get it recut to try and close the window, since I'm pretty flexible about everything in stones except windows (which, for some insane reason, I can't handle). I knew if I set the stone I wouldn't stop thinking about the window, and since I couldn't bear to sell I decided to gamble on re-cutting. The vendor promised that if the inclusions looked too deep for a recut he'd just send it back so I could re-list/re-consider.

O.M.G. I am so happy I spent the small amount of $ to recut, and SO HAPPY I didn't just re-sell without thinking about it more. Without further ado, here's the "new" stone!

Omg that's gorgeous!!!! What did it look like before? I've missed this adventure of yours completely.

Are you going to set it?

Great purchase!!!!! Lovely shade of pink!

You need to set some of these girl!!!!!!!! The round will be easier to set!

I have this obsession with emeralds/asschers but the realistic and budget girl in me knows the ease of setting a round!

Thanks to the moderators @Ella for editing! I was stupid and uploaded videos without thinking about the account it would link to. Here's a good video version of the recut stone.

Wow! That's beautiful!

Holy smokes! That's an excellent job done on the recut!

Wow, that turned out beautifully! I can't wait to see how you set it.

Wow...I had debated buying the cuprian when the original owner posted it (can't believe it sat as long as it did) and then when you posted it. Now I am GREEN with envy...but happy you did the right thing and kept it and brought out her true beauty! Dibs if you every change your mind again (haha).

Living vicariously through anyone who has projects to pursue cuz I'm broke and gotta commission new built in wardrobes :cry2: :P2. Hate renovations with a passion!

Seriously though I love this and the red jedi spinel. Can't wait to see it set!

Well this is unfortunate. When I first started this thread it was about moonstone, and I ended up buying an extremely cheap silver setting with moonstone and aqua from an etsy vendor. I figured it was worth it even if I wasn't thrilled with the final product. Now it's a fun game of, "where in the world is my package?"

Vendor gave me tracking and I've been following it along. I didn't pay for rush shipping because I wasn't in a hurry. I just got an email notice saying the package arrived in the Destination Country.....Canada. I'm in the US. So I got onto the tracking website, and it says the attached.

This isn't the vendor's fault, because the info at the top has my correct country, state, city, and zip code (blacked out for privacy). So WHY does DHL think it's arrived in it's "destination country"??? argggg!

Omg!!! I’m so sorry! How stressful can you get? I hope they rectify this ASAP! So Looking forward to seeing what you get! I’m sure it’s beautiful.

After it's looooong journey to Canada my moonstone/aqua silver ring is finally here!!! For the (almost comically low) price I paid, I'm really happy with it. The prongs are pretty "meh", and are super uneven from one side--see pic. But the moonstone has a nice blue sheen from the top, which I really like! Overall the price/quality is more than fair!20180813_115517.jpg20180813_115443.jpg20180813_115414.jpg

I don’t know how I missed this thread. I love the moonstone. It looks great in that setting and you must be thrilled to wear it at a very reasonable cost.

Also, that pink / red tourmaline looks wonderful after the recut. So sparkly!

Your moonstone/aqua ring turned out really well! Are you still getting the rubellite with tsavorites set?

@voce I don't think I'm going to do the rubellite--the pink/red tourmaline is much nicer than the rubellite anyway! But I am tempted to have this same vendor make me a necklace or something else for cheap, and just specify that I want the prongs more even and less blobby :)

That’s such a great ring and I love the look on you! The moonstone is very wonderful...wear it in joy!
