OMG! I thought the exact same thing! She was actually coherent and made a lot of sense for once.Date: 2/28/2008 11:52:02 PM

Maybe the wig guy looks like Taylor Hicks under there!I''d wear the wig, too!!
I really didn''t love any of the guys this week. The guy with the dreads has a good voice if I don''t look at him. I can''t stand the dreadlocks. (bad experience with a waitress once)
I love Ramiele.
Is it just me, or did Paula seem a bit more sober??

I''ve never seen so much crying from a contestant who got cut on this show. It was .... weird!

Kim, I agree, I wouldn''t call it a fit. I think she just got taken by surprise, as did a whole lot of people.
Um, ditto. I don't think any non-performers (especially non-teenager non-performers) have room to judge her. That is not an easy situation to be put in, and I really felt for her.Date: 2/29/2008 12:56:43 PM

You know ... I think I'm more surprised that it hasn't happened BEFORE now. What a hard task for someone who is *not* a professional yet ... and a teenager to boot.Date: 2/29/2008 1:27:46 AM

She was there to be judged on her performance ability. Not on how well she handles getting kicked off a reality showDate: 2/29/2008 1:58:04 PM

While I understand the sentiment, I respectfully disagree. We may not have 'room to judge her', but she's there to be judged. Did she know what she was getting into, really? Maybe not, but if she's seen the show..ever..she knew about this part. Does that make it easier? I'm sure not. But it is what it is.
I see both sides ... people have the right to opinions about it but I do think its UNKIND to judge her too harshly. What people *think* they can handle or how they *think* they''ll react is very different from what ACTUALLY happens in a situation. She agreed to the competition because she thought she could handle being kicked off & do what was expected of her (cruel or not). Unfortunately she didn''t know herself that well -- GASP -- she just turned 17!Date: 2/29/2008 2:18:11 PM

Yes and no. I know many extremely talented and extremely hard-working actors and singers, who are still struggling to find opportunities 10, 15, 20 years after initially beginning their careers. The business is about a heck of a lot more than talent and effort.Date: 2/29/2008 4:57:21 PM

Part of my reaction is because I don''t understand why someone would get so upset over being kicked off. I get that this is their ''big chance'', but really, for the truly talented, there will be more chances if they continue to put in the effort.

Glad she ultimately sang & got it together about 1/2 way through the song. Have there been other 17 yr old girls on & cut?? Just that one who made it to 2nd place ...
LOL. I think what you mean is you "have a life" and a "full time job"! Will try to find links for you but the summary/translation:Date: 3/5/2008 8:15:23 AM

So many IDOL scandals this week -- not enough time to recount them all! ''Lez'' pix (puh-leeze--standard Myspace fare), Male Stripper , Jessica Alba''s PUNK TIRADE against a) Your Mama -and- b) Santa Claus
deco, pleeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssseee, I''m not as smart as you - What does this mean? I''m not ''connected''
I''m with you on this deco. Though I have to rewind the tivo and watch his performance twice to actually hear what he sounds like (I''m so hypnotized by his eyelashes during the closeup shots, that I completely zone out and can''t hear a thing).Date: 3/5/2008 7:58:55 AM

Okay ... so, for starters, my song spoilers were ALL KINDS OF WRONG. Those peeps are getting clever with faked leaks hmmmmmm????
Also: I think I''ve gone crazy. Still high on the fumes of my Taylor-Hicks-4-Da-Win longshot victory, I entered into a bet with my DH last night. The odds: 10 x 1. The bet: $40 My pick to win: JASON CASTRO. With everyone & their brother predicting a David Archeletta win, this is clearly cuckoo -- but I''ve got a FEELING about it. I just don''t see America picking, say, Josh Groban as their IDOL. Let''s remember: Clay lost to Ruben. Whatshername lost to Fantasia. Katherine lost to Taylor. It''s not always THE BEST SINGER. There''s more to it -- a kind of magnetism/star quality/sizzle/sumptin sumptin. We''re not electing a POPE. Its a POP STAR.
Anyhoo. Just putting it out there. I''m NUTZ. And if I''m right -- $400 smackers closer to some studs or snuggies!
