Quick update before I get back to my massively overdue work

Xray was totally fine, no tears or fractures yes!!! She has been walking gingerly but steadily not hobbling, though we are still forcing her to rest. All is well, even though now there is no way I am getting an engagement ring before 2017 She's worth it. I will post a picture of her when I return.

Oh, say it ain't so! Surely you are being hyperbolic?! Of course she's worth it, though, I would hate it for you that this took so much away from your e-ring fund. At least you have found PS so you can make the most of your leftover funds if need be and not wait until '17.

Hugs again to you, SO, and Oreo. Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Remember in the movie UP how the couple saved all their spare change to get to Paradise Falls and then some emergency would come up and they'd have to spend it? Between trying to move to a better place, car repair, and Oreo, that is us right now

For now maybe she can be "engagement cat."

I definitely do not need a ring, I just have to laugh at how we're thinking "Yeah, we can totally save for ALL these things at once, and oh hey! Free cat!" Bwahahaha yeah right

I actually have my eye on a very lovely stand in eternity band from Etsy which we can easily afford and will work wonderfully while we save for the real deal.

It is either going to be a blue sapphire band from Etsy or a yellow sapphire band from BlueNile. Just something fun and colorful. I very much want an antique diamond later on. I had rose cuts before realizing that I love them for jewelry but would prefer an OEC or OMC for an engagement ring.

Oreo is doing GREAT! The day after her backup pain medication arrived from her online prescription she greeted me that morning with a sprightly jig around the house

Needless to say she is out of the crate and doing fine. Not one jump onto the counter either. She knows Mama don't play!

Yes we are extremely relieved. She seems to have a good sense of when to take it easy. She can get up to her bed independently now so whenever she needs a break she just goes in there and has a nap. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the advice, compassion, and general reassurance. I can already tell she is back to her old happy self and will be fully recovered in a few weeks.

Thank goodness for PSers and our awesome vet!

That's great news, Elliott. She is adorable! Love that she looks comfortable again. Having had a great many of them, I know there's nothing more expensive than a free cat! But worth every penny. Your idea for an eternity ring is super -- one thing at a time, sigh, in life.
