Thanks so much everybody! I really appreciate all the compliments and well wishes. After months and months... ok more like years of drooling over everyone's rings on this forum I'm so glad I could share my little bit of bling. A bunch of people I know have gotten engaged this past year but none of them are really into diamonds/jewelry like I am. It's great to be able to show it off especially to people who are used to seeing this type of setting and love to talk about their beauties.


My FI didn't really like halos at first but for some reason he fell in love with them. I told him that if we could afford a bigger diamond, around 2 carats or so, then there might not be a need for one. He looked at me and said "are you kidding! every diamond no matter what the size should be in a halo!"

what can I say.... I think I found a keeper!

Your FI sounds like a keeper to me!

Your e-ring is fantastic, BTW - he did a great job! I really like its profile, it is very fluid. I can tell you are having fun with it, as pictures you are posting are getting more and more creative...keep up the good work and post pictures often!!

oh and Lynn B, yes we did get the stone from quest and I'm sure your daughter's ring is beautiful. I tried to search for it but didn't find anything... maybe you could post it or send me a link to it

I do have one new update on my ring. I wasn't totally happy with the size of the bezel. I thought it was a little on the thick side. So I emailed Pete and he told me to bring it in.

Well I dropped by quest yesterday morning and we decided to shave down the bezel and add milgrain. My FI picked it up later that evening since its on his way home from work and i could not be happier! I really think that it was the perfect finishing touch. Before my eyes would always be drawn to the bezel rather than the center diamond. Now my diamond is center stage and the bonus is i think it makes it look bigger

I'll post a few hand pics in a bit.

so here is a new pic with the milgrain.

I think that it makes the ring look more "antiquey" which is a good thing. It also makes the setting look daintier and more delicate.

I was worried my FI wouldn''t like it because he loved the smooth bezel.... But after seeing it he decided he liked both ways equally which was very important to me.

I''m really amazed at the difference it made as well as how much smaller the bezel looks.

The more halo rings I see, the more I like them. I might have to upgrade myself again in a few years if I still love them.
