I LOVE it!!! When I read ''surprise pears'' I thought ''huh''? lol, because I''ve never seen surprise pears, only rounds! But its gorgeous!! May I ask, where is the setting from? Congratulations!

I designed the setting as a combination of some of the features I liked on a couple of settings by Richard Krementz (www.richardkrementzgemstones.com). It was made by our local jeweler, Aucoin Hart, who did a FANTASTIC job and worked with FI for a total of about 3 months to get it just right.

I nonchalantly referred FI to goodoldgold for the diamond, but he was uncomfortable working online. So (as I learned after the proposal) he got Ryan Aucoin (the son of the owner of Aucoin Hart, who also happens to be a gemologist and who has worked with MANY diamond cutters over the years) to check out goodoldgold and see what could be done.
Well, he went on GOG and recognized the name of one of the cutters who works with GOG - evidently, he had also worked with Ryan many years ago. So Ryan called him up and got him to cut us our perfect stone. I wanted GOG cut-quality, FI wanted to work locally - it was the best of both worlds!
