I''m WORRIED about the fall fashions....I see in all the magazines that skinny tapered jeans are making a comeback, so are ballet flats. TWO things that make me feel short, even though I''m 5''7.

Also, I''ve been wearing low-rise, boot-cut jeans for so long, I''ve thrown out all my skinny tapered jeans. That means a whole new wardrobe for me
7.gif
I know exactly what you mean. I''m 5''7" and pretty small and still can''t bring myself to wear flats. Not only do I feel short in them but because I''ve worn heals for so long I feel like I"m walking up hill in them, lol..or like I''m wearing a pair of those..what are they...earth shoes? Where they''re higher in the front than the back? Argh, that drives me nuts! lol.

I did cave and buy this leather jacket from Neiman Marcus. I just loved the snake embossed leather. Can''t wait for a cold day to wear it with a white T, jeans and a cute pair of boots!!
OMG, Libster

I LOVE that jacket!!

Here's a skirt from the White House/Black Market that I want to get

Oh no, I had no idea that narrow jeans are making a come back. This REALLY sucks. For some reason I''m having flashbacks of jeans with little zippers on the ankles.

I think I''m going to keep wearing boot cut in case the narrow pants don''t quite catch on!

Here''s a trend that is coming back to CA, the gaucho pant for fall is often paired with wedge shoes or long boots, I think it''s a look that flatters most women:

I''ve tried and tried and tried to like those pants. It took me almost three years to warm up to capri pants and now I own about four pairs of them..but I don''t konw what it is about the gouchos. I just look weird in them.

Because of all this fall fashion look, I HAD to go shopping during my lunch break. I went nuts and bought 2 pairs of gaucho pants (black and chocolate brown) and a long black peasant skirt. I''m absolutely in love with the gaucho pant look. It makes me look so tall and slim

You''re not the only one. I look weird in them too. I''ve always liked capris, but these just cut my calves off a the wrong place and just look so so wrong on me.

I remember wearing gauchos in elementary school.(1970''s) i don''t think i could pull them off now.

HI:

Saw some in denim--thought they''d look great with boots; but I bought a handknit orange sweater with big decorative buttons instead!

cheers--Sharon

Personal vent (skip if you don''t want to hear B$tching first thing on a monday morning):

I''m wearing my gauchos at work today, and I STILL love them! I have a coworker that hates my guts (don''t know why)....she said "Oh, you got those crazy pants that everyone is wearing." first of all, not everyone is wearing them....yet. Then she followed it by: "That style is just not flattering on people unless you''re a size 2" I was livid....but I was thinking of all the nasty comebacks that never left my mouth, instead I just said: "well, I''m pretty close to a 2, so thanks for the compliment." What I SHOULD have said was: "I can understand why it wouldn''t look flattering on YOUR fat butt!" (then retract my claws).

I don''t understand those people. A lot of women say that they''d pass up a fashion trend if it doesn''t look good on them, but why knock on people that it DOES look good on? EVERYONE on PS is relatively cordial, and says: "It''s not the look for me, but....." Not this girl! I could never wear anything cropped or shows the mid-riff no matter how skinny or young because I''m short-waisted, and have no waist definition whatsoever, but more power to those that do.....

Here where we are in CA...I don't start thinking about fall fashions until around ohhh....October?! It's kind of OFF with when the stores get their stuff in, which is right now...but I am not mentally ready to start shopping until it gets pretty chilly (for CA anyway) and that has not happened yet. We still go for summer weekend outings with the friends through mid October.

But I did get the BCBG fall book in the mail last week..yum, lots of really cute stuff in there! It's got me thinking...as well as all the fashion mags I was reading on the plane this last week!

My staples for winter are blazers (stretch cord are my fave!), thin sweaters and long sleeved C&C tops for layering, and also big chunky sweaters for those nights when I just feel really cold!), lots of expensive jeans that take 10 pounds off (twisted seams are all the rage this fall it seems? Anyone tried these on yet??) and boots or loafers. I still also wear flip flops on the weekends with my jeans to Greg's horror!
9.gif

I can't wear pointy toed shoes at all, they give me ingrown toenails in my big toe.
7.gif

Oh and LOVE that Prada coat...yum!! Too bad we don't really need stuff like that around here...Greg keeps telling me...oh if we move to the East Coast you have double the wardrobe options! Hah!
9.gif

ETA: I LOVE gauchos!!! I got three pairs this summer (2 from eBay) and they are soo absolutely comfortable and can be dressed up or down depending on the material and color of the pants. I am dying to get some for fall soon. Love them with the tall boot idea! I will say that I think the summer ones need to be worn with heels rather than flip flops because they don't flatter the calf at all....well depending on where they hit and if I wear them with flip flops it makes my calf look fatter and the heel elongates the leg more.

that''s terrible! jealous...jealous...jealous

is what that was all about.
i''m really liking the gouchos, probably because i missed the whole trend the first time around (whenever it was) i hope you will continue to wear them jaysonsmom, even around your jealous coworker.

I totally plan to continue wearing them as much as possible, in fact, I''m going to buy a whole wardrobe of them. No I know that "she" won''t be copying my look, that''s more reason to get them
emwink.gif
. This girl is notorious for copying everything I wear to work. If I wear a black shirt with white skirt, the next day she''ll be wearing that, if I put my hair up in a twist one day, the next day she comes with her hair in a french twist....

I haven''t seen those, can you post a pic?

Jaysons...here''s a pic of the True Religion ones I saw in the mag on the plane.

They run from $180-300 I guess depending on where you buy them. They look like the seams would irritate me but the mag said they make your legs look super thin.

twisted seam true religion jeans.jpg

Okay, I can see how those could make your legs look slimmer. However, I don''t think I''d pay that high of a price to look slimmer, I''d just wear a sexy shirt to draw everyone''s eyes up to my chest instead
31.gif

the twisted seams *do* feel weird on your legs....like they''re crooked. maybe one could get used to it. i haven''t yet.

J-E-A-L-O-U-S-Y. That's what she's suffering from.

I'm kind of odd when it comes to fashion. I think things look fabulous on others but because I am so critical of myself I feel like it doesn't look right on my body. Take for instance the cigarette pants. I absolutely loooooooove cigarette pants and own quite a few pairs of them. Not everyone likes them but that's just me. If I were you I'd go out and buy more of them in just about every color I could get my hands on and wear them every day just to rub it in that you can wear them and look glorious in them
9.gif
But that's just me..I'm evil that way.

ETA: Oops, you already said that's what you are going to do
17.gif
lol.

I just love everything everyone is posting! Great fall fashions indeed! I really need to buy some clothes. I look tres homeless. As for the jeans, I like the silhouette, tthe seams will draw the eyes in which is slimming!!! but I can't get into trendy jeans that are meant to look dirty (worn is great, but dirty).... eeek. I'm just square...see, does anyone even say "square" LOL
And I'm so jealous looking at all these heels. I just can't wear them. I don't need to be 6'2. A little girl in my buidling already smiled at me and said hi giant lady. LOL. Don't ya just love kids
20.gif

ps. Diamonds4me- that skirt is STUNNING. With a black cashmere sweater. OMG.

MMM, Greg agrees with you. He said, you can have my dirty working-on-the-car jeans for $5 instead of $200.
20.gif

I am not a dirty fan either...I don''t like worn either actually. I can make holes in my stuff for free.

MMM, it used to be that you couldn't order directly from their website but I found out the other day that they changed it. I guess enough people complained
9.gif
..me being one of them, lol. I hate driving an hour to them and then having to drive an hour back..that takes two hours out of my shopping time! So..YAY! I get to order it ON LINE now!
36.gif
And you're right...a black cashmere sweater....and maybe (this is going to sound crazy) the black leather shirt that I bought from VS a few years ago
3.gif

Ehhh, the gacho pants thing has been popular here since I got to UA. I think it is cute on some...it was not great for me. I tried some when I was pledging at my Bigs request and I looked like I was preggers...I have very long legs and no torso whatsoever and I spend a lot of time trying to make myself look more normal by wearing longer shirts and what not. I think everyone should wear what looks most flattering on their body. When I look at trends got for colors or patterns, easier to make it look right on your and it can last a little longer.

HI:

What about those old/new flouncy blouses with neckties??? Anyone like those? Got rid of all mine a few years ago....... And as for cashmere, I still have not found anything in the "right" shade.....what luck have others had?

cheers--Sharon
