I'm on a bit of a setting binge v. LOGR and Lan.bo4

LTP you are a sweetheart for letting us newbies hijack for educational purposes.

So is it worth the time to stalk an auction if you know you are going to have to have the setting customized to fit your stone? Or is it really going to end up the same as BIN prices + customization fees? I am really curious for response on this

I think you're better off making an offer on a BIN with ALL customizations included also including that you're a PS member.

Quite honestly, I'm finding Lan.bo4/Jewelryhoo's customization charges more reasonable. I paid $100 less for the customized Lan.bo4 asscher baguette setting that is only .02 ct. smaller than the LOGR pear double prong setting with baguettes (which is supposed to be set today - YAY) at .19 ct.

When you ask lan.b04 to customize a piece, how do you provide the instructions? Is there any special way to ensure he doesn't goof them up?

I am planning on doing a custom with lanbo4 and I made up this for him. Problem is I don't know how to get it to him as we've been communicating through ebay. Maybe I should upload to photobucket and link it? Would that work? I am also very curious to hear LTPs response as I assume she is very happy with fit of the settings from him.

An Excel spread sheet or CSV file - I started doing it with Stephan and I use it with everyone now.

Cemrn - that looks like a PERFECT way to get your point across to Lan.bo4, and I think uploading it to photobucket and linking it, along with uploading a pic of your stone too.

I gave to lan.bo4 the link to Tan's ebay auction where I bougth the purple spinel, it states the size , the depth and he can see the video for the gem, so I hope all that info will be enough for lanbo to adapt the setting.

Just heard from lanbo.4. He sent me an email address and I simply attached the photos.
