Hi everyone -
Our 10th wedding anniversary is coming up in May and I'm trying to decide the right approach for my wife's anniversary gift.
I'm thinking about an eternity band but quick research looks like sizing is forever too
So would appreciate any thoughts and advice on size and approach - should I chance surprising her and is the eternity band a good choice to complement what she has? If so what size and quality of diamonds would go well?
She currently wears a simple platinum wedding band with a 6 prong platinum solitaire. So I was thinking this would replace the platinum band? Of course have forgotten all the 4 c's in 10 years but from the appraisal and GIA report the solitaire stone (maybe too much info but not sure what will help with advice) is a 1.34 carat round brilliant cut diamond, VVS1, F, 7.1 - 7.13 x 4.40, no fluorescence, excellent polish, symmetry - 61.8% x 55%. No culet (not sure what that is). When I bought it I was more focused on overall stone quality than size but she also has pretty small hands - ring size is 4.5 (or was when I bought it).
Looking at maybe 4 carat eternity or maybe 3? I also saw 5 stone anniversary bands. Thoughts? Advice on if I should chance surprising her? We haven't really talked about this before...she's generally not very showy in terms of jewelry but I'm guessing she would make an exception with this. Appreciate any perspective! Thanks in advance!
