Check this out. I made the newspaper in South Carolina along with mine owner Bryan Major at the Diamond Hill Mine. You have to be signed in to read the article

"Diamond Hill Mine owner Bryan Major shows a piece of amethyst that he found at the mine and is valued in the thousands of dollars."

Here is me holding a huge amethyst cluster

Here is me showing the kids how finding amethyst is done ;))

OH MY!!! That's an amazing find! Great door stop.... KIDDING!!

Congratulations on making the news, Barrett!

Ok so that's my e-ring sorted Jason! Now, off you pop and find a pair of matching earrings please! ;)

Seriously cool photos and must have been great fun. Strangely though, I dig my garden over like that but have never found any amethyst! :nono:

What are the plans for that piece? Will it remain intact?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! ROFL!! Good one LD!

Oh! I never knew that's how you did it. I have soil near my place that looks just like that! Hmm, where do I find a fork that size...

I don't really understand amethyst crystals though. I see a LOT of the uncut material being sold at geomancy and 'feng shui' shops, along with crystal healing type new age places. They aren't particularly expensive, or cheap... What makes the various Amethyst grades worth more or less as jewelry grade gems?

I always think of the giant geodes that weigh above 100kilograms loaded with raw crystals and wonder if those could be cut into fantastic gemstones too.

Nice looking stuff coming out of Diamond Hill!! I bet you were pretty excited to see such good stuff coming up out of the ground.
