Hi!

I''m considering buying this 1.34cts F VVS2 stone on the internet.
There is an indented natural on the table but is otherwise a very clean stone.

being a VVS2 could I assume that it will be so minor that no one will be able to see it even with reflected lighting but without magnification?

a bit of a silly question maybe; but is there a chance that one can feel it by running a finger or fingernail thru the table?

cheers~

Are you certain the indented natural is "on the table"?
That seems unlikely.

I suspect it is the cloud that is visible under the table and the indented natural is on girdle at 1 O'clock, as indicated in the pavilion view diagram.
That is how it appears based on the resolution I can make out on my monitor.

Can you provide a link the the stone's listing which may have a zoom-able image of the GIA report?

kenny it''s a good question but looking at the zoomed image attached (no better resolution though) I really can see a V shape on the table which must be the indented natural...

anyway I''ve emailed the website to clarify.

so is indented natural on table of a VVS2 very very rare?

OK, not to sounds snippy, but dude... it is a VVS2!

That means that it is very very difficult to see the inclusions using 10x. No way you or anyone else will see it in person with the unaided eye. And I have cavity in the table of my diamond and cannot feel it with the fingernail, and mine is SI2, so I suspect you will be fine.

BUT given that you are considering a VVS diamond, clarity obviously matters to you. So for mind clean reasons perhaps you want to find one without anything on the table?

I vividly recall a GIA VVS1 with an indented natural on the girdle of another diamond posted here.

A smart cutter cuts a diamond as heavy as possible from the rough crystal.
An indented natural is a little of the crystal's skin that was left to maximixe the use of the rough.

I doubt the table inclusion is a natural because of how round brilliants are cut from the rough.
The table inclusion is almost certainly a cloud under the table.

The girdle reaching the widest part of the rough results in high yield from the rough.
That is why the girdle is more likely to reach to the skin of the rough than the table is.

GIA notates indented naturals with two marks next to each other, a green and a red mark.
The table inclusion is only red here.
The one on the girdle, while blurry, looks like one green and one red mark.

Yes, I see the colors in the image that Karl shows. Kenny and Karl are right.

Thanks for all the feedback, unfortunately the stone has been sold already...
Cheers nonetheless~
