Info on selling an old diamond...

Where should someone go to sell a large 4+ carat diamond? It is an old diamond, with an unusual cut, its a cross between an oval and marquee. Where or how does one go about selling something like this?

As for where, here are some possibilities:

consign with local jeweler
consign with Pearlman's
consign with PS vendor -- Good Old Gold, Jewels by Erica Grace
advertise on local Craigslist but that may be risky
sell to Old World Diamonds or maybe Singlestone or EricaGrace or EngagementRingsDirect or Good Old Gold or some other dealer who specifically buys antique diamonds
submit it via "Sell Your Diamonds" here, link is under Resources, but it's rumored that people don't like the low offers they received (The more data you have, the better. Get a big-name appraisal or GIA report beforehand, regardless of where you try to sell it.)
