Now I'm still awaiting CAD images at the moment.
My question is, are cushions prone to chipping when being mounted ?

What are some of my options of getting the stone insured prior to setting ?

Thanks all~ I'm hoping to have the final product hopefully in the next couple 2-3 weeks.

If you have an appraisal written for you that includes the price of the ring and the price of the mounting then you can contact Jeweler's Mutual and they will cover the stone and the ring during the mounting process. You must tell them up front that this is what you are doing and most appraisers will also note in the appraisal that the ring and the stone are not yet joined and then reissue the appraisal when the setting work is completed.
