Insuring a ring for travel outside of the US?

My wife is Chinese. She will be spending several months in China every year. Does anyone know if I can get insurance against loss/theft abroad? Will US insurers cover loss or theft abroad, especially in China? And, if so, how expensive would that be?

I don''t know whether this helps, but I obtained an "inland marine" policy from State Farm for some camera equipment which I take with me when I travel abroad. My agent told me that the "inland marine" designation added additional coverage for the items which would not normally be covered on a normal property coverage binder. We added the same coverage to Valerie''s engagement ring and verified with our insurance agent that the item would be covered while traveling abroad... Actually living in a foreign country might change things a bit, but perhaps this points you in the right direction.

I think they might have provisions for actually living abroad - I know they cover travel abroad, but spending months could constitute residing in two addresses.. you may want to clarify?
