Introducing the CVB Abby Solitaire!

It's perfection.. congratulations!!

So very beautiful!!! I love how it transitioned into a ring. And I really like the height of the cathedral shoulders… Not to high not too low.

I'm curious… With your wedding band being rose gold, did you consider doing a rose gold ering band (leaving the head in white gold though)? Or did you always know that you wanted the bands different colors?

Thank you, ILikeShiny! Yes, I don't like a super high cathedral as well, and I just left it up to Caysie to determine the best height.

Actually, I did consider doing a rose gold ring band, but I'm so used to white gold or platinum, it just felt more at home to me. I'm not wedded to being matchy-matchy, so the fact they don't match pretty much is me!

Yimmers, your gorgeous AVR is stunning in that setting.:love::love:Absolutely shows it off. That high crown is delicious! Congratulations on finding it a new home. Caysie makes a killer delicate solitaire. I see nothing but ROCK in that setting.

Hi LLJsmom, thank you very much! Yes, I didn't get to appreciate the high crown and the beauty of these older cuts until it was at home in this setting. From top view, the prongs just disappear, yet I see a nice symmetry of the 8 prongs that helps it maintain the circular shape. I'm very happy I went with the 8 prongs - fits the antique style, but is still sleek enough for today.

Beautiful! I was just looking at her Abby earring settings! It looks perfect for your stone.

Thanks, poshmommy! The setting as earrings look stunning! That's what caught my eye!

Caysie is such a gifted artist. She makes the most simple settings special and elegant. I love it!

Your stone is a 2 ct AVR, right? Gorgeous!!!

Thanks, diamondseeker2006! I really do love how it's simple, yet different than the ones I see people wear in my usual social circles.

Yes, it's a 2.1 AVR!

Love it! Can you remind us of the specs on your stone?

Thank you, Snowdrop13! It's an AVR, 2.1 carats, J, SI2. Actually, in certain lighting conditions, the inclusion is readily visible. While it bothered me a lot at first (the old stone being a VS1), I find it comforting now, because I can look at it and know it's my diamond. It must be a high J, since people seem to think it's more H-I than J. After having a F, I enjoy the slight warmth of this diamond.

:clap::clap:

Beautiful setting, Yimmers! I love love love the delicate prongs! Hopefully 8 prongs will be enough protection.

What are all the stats on the setting? What ring size are you now? What width did you go for for the top of the shank?

We are almost AVR twins, except mine is I color with slightly larger table! Still waiting to get the ring back from SK.

Congrats on joining the CVB club!

Hi dazzlerazzle, thank you! I've followed your AVR journey and it's been exciting to read about it.
I hope the 8 prongs will be enough too - I've knocked the original 4 prong setting it came in so many times that the diamond came loose on three different occasions. The six prong setting was just a stock type and U G L Y.

Good question on the stats of the setting - I didn't ask Caysie, but all do so. A good guess would be maybe 2-2.2 mm on the bottom, tapering down to 1.5 mm on the top? I got it a smidgen larger than 5.5, due to weight gain from meds :(

It's perfection.. congratulations!!

Thanks, blingmeupscotty!

Well, I intended to post more pictures this weekend of the ring...but...furbaby had an encounter with a raccoon. Being some type of chi-pom-who knows what mix of 14 lbs, he was easily overpowered. Late night at the ER vet, and not so happy tummy on meds.

Poor dog, cone of shame and thanks to some puncture wounds in his tail, a shave job that's left him with a pom-pom at the end like a lion.

The dog pictures are pre-raccoon.

More photos by the flowers. Sorry for the dirty ring!

And lastly, the poor little guy and his shaved tail. His long, glorious tail fur shaved off. I guess the Vet Assistant decided to have a little fun rather than just a shaved patch on his tail. His regular vet today commented that the look was a bit comical, which I have to agree. I guess a bit of levity for a rough night.
