Is a table of 61% too big, even with HCA of 1.7?

Found a diamond that has an HCA score of 1.7. I was told that a table above 60% may be too big and would negative affect the refraction. Does HCA take that into account?

Not necessarily. The crown/pavilion angle combo as well as the lower girdle length will strongly dictate if this is an issue or not. Let's see as much data as you can share.
