is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it match?

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I agree a band on top and one on the bottom is way too much. Check out Yessie's 3 stone thread she has some beautiful shots with her three stone and a plain band.

:appl: Come back and show us your final set! MissGotRocks got her diamond band from Tiffany, so you might want to go try theirs on if you have one nearby. Ame has one like it, as well.

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I just want to add your 3 stone is gorgeous and I apologize for my spray tan fading in the above pictures. ;))

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

It will look much much better with just one smaller band. I wear a standard 2mm band with my 3 stone and I believe it works perfectly.

TaterTots - this is a perfect 3 stone combination with the plain band!! Very nice!!! :appl:

No problem!! it is beautiful - so well proportioned and the diamonds look so white - almost a hint of fluoro perhaps (it could be the lighting... that's probably another option..!!) but really perfect on your hand. Enjoy your ring too!! :))

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

Oh, TaterTots, I just love your ring!

We are trying to tell you that it is too much to wear a band above the 3 stone ring. Choose any of the bands but wear ONE below the engagement ring as the wedding band. The third band above the e-ring is what is too much and taking away from the engagement ring!

I probably like the one with the round diamonds best with your e-ring. MissGotRocks has a similar set.

Agreed with Diamondseeker. Your ering is FABULOUS and I think that pairing it with one thin band (either plain, or with diamonds) would really better compliment it. Please do come back and show us what you decide to do! :wavey:

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I agree with the others who said it's too much with both bands. One band would allow your e-ring to shine.

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

Your three-stone is beautiful, very elegant and classic. I agree with the others that one band would be enough. Two would compete with the ring. I love bands that have a different stone shape from the e-ring, it adds variety, but they usually work when they are just as or more delicate than the e-ring, when you stack them.

But if you love both bands together, that's what matters! :))

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

Yea a thinner band would be perfect.
I have the 2mm channel from Tiffany and a 2mm plain. I think a single 2mm band plain or diamond below it would be ideal.

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I like the last one or the plain band the best on you. I personally wear 2 micropave bands w/ my 3 stone.

Have you checked out this thread for inspiration (especially if you like wearing multiple bands):

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

Lovely options, Reeva! I really like the style of #1 but would see that best with a solitaire ering, not with the 3 stone. Your 3 stone is sooooo beautiful - its well proportioned and great finger coverage - that I'm seeing each option as overwhelming your gorgeous ring!

My preference would be either a smaller version of #4 - smaller pt stones in the channel set - or simply a plain band. I think you are craving more bling, and I can completely appreciate that ;)) , but to my eye, it just distracts from the 3 stone.

I would suggest continuing to look further for a narrower, more delicate channel set band, or try on different widths of plain bands. Oh!!! new thought - what if you got #1 (Oh, did I mention I LOVE that design??) and wore it inbetween the other 2 baguette bands you have been wearing up till now?? Fantastic stacker combination!!

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

If your heart is set on wearing two bands, the second option you posted just above is the nicest of all the two-band possibilities you've posted!

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I still think they're all too much and too wide. A narrower #4 would be good though.

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I LOVE the 2nd option!!!

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I vote for a simple band or a small pave band with a tiny spacer ring as well, but only on the bottom, not on both sides of the three stone. It will make your three stone pop and appear much larger too. Gorgeous ring!

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I actually really like the second option - especially since I'm starting to get the feeling that you like the look of 2 bands - I think this look compliments your ering without overpowering it - the really thin bands help out with this. I know not everyone on the forum likes curved bands, but I think it's a pretty look. The bands might turn as you're wearing it though, and drive you a little crazy.

I also really like #4. I'm also picking up that you want a blingy look, and I think this band adds some bling without overpowering your 3 stone.

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

From the selections youre showing, I feel like you're trying to compensate for the perceived "too small" size of your ering by overdoing it with too big wedding bands and you're actually making your ering look way smaller doing that. The less and thinner the band the more the eng ring will pop and the bigger it will look!

Ditto. My preference is a single band, either plain or one of the first two diamond bands you posted (including the baguette band).

But - no matter what any or all of us think, your preference and sense of style is the one that really counts!

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

Ok.......I'll go against popular opinion here. I also have a 3-stone ring that I wear with bands on either side. I know it's not everyone's taste but I love the blingy look. I also wear small spacer bands on either side of my ring to stop the rubbing. I found that the spacer bands also break up the look. I've attached a photo. I think you need to wear your ring however it makes YOU happy.

Who perceives it as too small? I think it looks plenty big...much larger than my e-ring! Lucky gal. :wink2:

I feel the OP may perceive that her ring is, and it is NOT small. Often when someone goes for overly large and overly blingly bands next to a ring in this manner, they are displeased with their eng ring size or proportion and are thinking that getting more bling in the bands will "fix" that for them, and usually it just makes them unhappy. I am guessing that based on her selections, not based on things she's said. I think the look she is going for is an attempt to make it look bigger and flashier overall, and I think she's actually getting the opposite effect. #2 in this last batch was ok for a 2 band approach, though I still think she's taking a lot away from a really great eng ring. It's NOT my ring, and it's NOT my say so, I am giving MY opinion, and guessing at what might be going on with her selections and desire based on those selections. I learned the hard and expensive way that a wider or blingier band actually has the opposite effect in making an eng ring look bigger and better. Narrower and daintier seemed to really make mine pop. I wear two bands myself, so I am not opposed to it. I just think the selections she's shown so far don't do a lot for her eng ring.

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

Beautiful ring! The two bands are definitely overpowering the e-ring, maybe try just one? Can you post a pic with just one band?

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

the thin channel set band (last pic) is very nice as well - is it an eternity?

Re: is my weddings bands overpowering my e/ring, does it mat

I love the second image, go for that one :appl:
