is one type of prong/mounting style better for princess cut?

The jeweler I'm talking to offers two types of prongs for the stone I'm buying...a 1.75 princess cut diamond. I can get a "basket" style or the "chevron" style which I believe means the same thing as a V-prong. I like the look of the chevron style better, but are there pros/cons to either that I need to consider, besides personal preference?
