Is there a big difference visually between a 1 ct. and a 1.5 ct?

Worth it to upgrade to a 1.5 RB from an almost 1 carat RB, or is it not a noticeable enough difference? The color and clarity would be about the same. Thanks!

It is noticeable in my opinion.

Noticeable, yes. Worth it? Personal decision.

YES it will be noticeable!!! Just don''t get a deep and steep LOL, but I know you know that. I''d upgrade to 1.5 in a HEARTBEAT - not a second thought!!!!!

+1, I went from a 1 to 1.21, it was worth it to me ($100 in upgrade cost difference and well worth it) and I see the difference.

Yes, the difference in size is noticeable.

Here''s a thread that might help.

Yes, I think you can see the difference in size. I have been comparing sizes at the mall stores, trying to figure out what carat size I want. There is a big difference in 1 to 1.5 carat ( if they are the same cut quality for spread.) I would jump at the chance to upgrade!

You will most definitely notice a difference

I think it's worth the upgrade, provided it is a well cut stone.

Thanks for your opinions so far! Sounds like it''s probably worth it.

Ellen, thanks for that link. Very helpful!

Hell yeah! If both were equally cut though, not point in getting a larger stone that is poorly cut or faces up small.

Ohhhh yeah! The one carat is nice, but that extra .5 just adds some extra kick

It is quite noticeable IMHO... just look at the size chart

Welcome!

Yes, I agree that if both are similar in cut (well cut) there is a larger difference that I always notice.

I was just at the jewelry store this past Saturday looking at 1.0, 1.25, and 1.5 ct. diamonds. All three were noticeable differences. The 1.5 looked huge compared to the 1.0. Its almost a full millimeter larger in size. And when these things are so small to begin with, a millimeter is very noticeable.

It's been said already - but do be sure to stay with well-cut stones.

It won't happen on PS, but in some (rare) circumstances these... do... exist...

1.00 RB – 6.85 mm
1.50 RB – 6.89 mm

"Why Grandma, what big depth you have."

" ...All the better to chEAT you with! "

(and the 1.00 performs like a frisbee)
