Hi,

I'm buying my first ring off E-bay from MDC Diamonds and I'm wondering if this is a good deal. The price is $4700 USD, it is for solitaire engagement ring set on 905 titanium

GIA certified:

Taken from GIA report check

Round Brilliant:

Measurement: 5.69 - 5.81 x 3.55 mm
Carat Weight: 0.71
Color Grade: E
Clarity Grade: IF
Cut Grade: Good

Proportions:

Depth: 61.7%
Table: 59%
Crown Angle: 34.5 degree
Crown Height: 14.5%
Pavilion angle: 41 degree
Pavilion Depth: 43.5%
Star Length: 60%
Lower Half: 85%
Girdle: Very Thin to Medium, Faceted
Culet: None

Finish:

Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None

Clarity Characteristics: Extra Facet

Cut grade affected by brillianteering

*end of report*

What concerns me is this:
*Clarity Characteristics: Extra Facet
*Cut grade affected by brillianteering
*Girdle: Very Thin to Medium, Faceted
*Cut Grade: Good

This is the link to the diamond ring
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260000482917&sspagename=ADME:B:AAQ:US:1

The rate that I received from HSA is 2.4 with all being very good

The seller seems to be reputable and nice. They also offer 10 days money back guarantee which is the main reason why I'm buying from them. This is my first time buying diamond off ebay so please let me know if I am getting a good deal and if there anything that I should know about the diamond. I would really appreciate if some of the people here can help me with my concerns above.

I would very much appreciate it if anyone could run the specs through Diamcal.

Thank you very much

This site rocks!

Lots of things wrong with that diamond...and most of all...don''t buy a diamond this expensive off ebay. Seriously, you need to read the tutorials on this site and the 4C''s tutorial on Good Old Gold.

But the short of it, start with:

Excellent cut
Very good or higher polish and symmetry
Girdle: thin, medium, or slightly thick

This site rocks!

Look at the min and max measurements of the diameter of this stone 5.69 to 5.81.... depending on your vision this stone COULD look "out of round".

Well cut diamonds have min and max measurements much closer....

Good symmetry and polish may not be that "good".

If you really want a well performing diamond, I''d pass on this puppy.

Much better stones out there.

Thx for the comments. I haven''t seen the ring but I''m going to give it a try since I''m already committed to buy it. I know I should''ve do more research before buying the ring. but I can always return it if I don''t like it.

I would really appreciate more comments on this diamond ring.

Can anyone please suggest any good dealer that can ship their diamonds to canada.

Thank you

Many of the vendors on here ship to Canada....I really like Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash, but you''d need to check with them about the shipping issue. I''m pretty sure they do. I''m sure there are others that do as well, but those two just carry excellent diamonds!

I would really recommend buying a loose diamond from one of the vendors associated with Pricescope here, then having it set. Have you looked at Boone Rings? They have a wonderful selection of titanium tension settings from US$300-500ish, they do all custom work, their turn around time is unbelieveable too. I ordered a ring from them and would highly recommend. Link
