I was just going through eBay and came across this listing for $11,000,000

. Anyone have that kinda cash laying around? Can I borrow it?

How come some people''s links take me to Microsoft.com??

I''m getting a faulty link?!

Yeah, it didn''t work for me either...

oops, it''s fixed now.

Oh Wow! I hope he takes paypal!

A 48% table???????? Is there really such a thing for an EC??????? That''s seem way TOO small!!!!

Holy sweet goodness, that thing is GINORMOUS!!!

Hehe, in the listing it says you get an appraisal for $27 mil, and you also get a $60.00 gift certificate for your next purchase from them!!!

$60.00 is BEANS compared to the price of that thing! LOL!

You know what, I was thinking the same thing. It''s BIG of them to give you $60 bucks gift certificate. After buying that enormous diamond I don''t think I would have any cash leftover to buy anything else.

EIGHTY TWO CARATS of GIA graded D, IF?!?!?!!?!?!?!!?

I don't care if the cut stinks like poo poo, I'll take it.

I could get it recut and still have to make a ring out of brass knuckles that's big enough to hold it.

Now where did I stash that eleven mill........

I wish he had taken a picture of it next to something familiar (a quarter, for instance) for reference. You don''t get any sense of the size from the pic on the listing. I can''t even begin to visualize how big an 81 carat stone would be. Moreover, wouldn''t you think for that kind of money, he could have taken a few more pictures.

ah, but it doesn''t actually say it has a GIA cert...it says it "has been graded by a GIA graduate gemologist"...

But the listing does show a scanned in copy of a GIA cert. Are you thinking it doesn''t actually match the diamond he''s selling??

what''s really funny is if you go look at his store, note the prices, and then click on "rare and expensive jewelry"...

hmm, dunno, maybe i''m just being too picky about the semantics, but let''s just say i''m a little suspicious of anyone who says this about a diamond he''s selling: "It is also a great wearable investment, guaranteed to outshine all of the stocks and bonds you might own."

unless he can convince my hubby, that is...

haha. I read the price at first as 11,000 and I was like WAIT A MINUTE.. thats WAY cheap.. that can''t possibliy be. Cuz it wasn''t.. :)
WOWSER.. do you think there are really people on EBAY with 11 million to just bid on something like that?

Reading the listing. it does seem a little strange. How does someone who uses an AOL email address get thier hands on an 81 ct D IF diamond.. I didn''t even think diamonds existed that big that were D IF.. and you can''t even afford your own email server?

HOLY COW THAT SUCKER IS HUGE!

If you scroll down to the bottom of his page, he has a list of questions that ebayers have asked. One of the people asks to see more pictures of the diamond without all the hardware. The only thing he responds with is "thanks for watching Jewelry47." Do you think this means he doesn''t have any more pictures?

In all seriousness now, no one with a 90 ct diamond of any decent color or clarity is going to auction it on ebay. That's what reputable auction houses like Sotheby's are for, etc. While it's fun to joke, I really don't take the auction seriously at all. Anyone who would buy such a diamond through ebay is a fool. Someone with a real interest would contact the seller to make other arrangements (verification of grading, escrow, something like that). This guy has got to be screwing around. I'm sure he doesn't have anything, including more pictures or information.

I especially like the fact that he states..

No visible inclusions.

Really? (D IF..hmmm)

I honestly have a hard time thinking that there was 81 carats of rough.. or more (so that they''d have to cut it) that someone could have this type of diamond...

I guess...

LOL I was thinking the same thing. That particular seller always offers that with his purchases but you''d think they''d do a percentage when it gets that high...

Mara: After posting the thread, I wondered the same thing. A diamond is never too big here at Pricescope.

I didn''t know what I was thinking. I just couldn''t think of a catching subject title.

I would take one of those babies any day. I can''t imagine what a 89 carat would look like on ones finger..
