Is this jedi? Show me your jedi spinels!

IMG_1644.jpeg
Wide rangeing termination by AIGS, so in that range would even match some fine peach color pinkish-orange spinel's?

The term "Jedi" I heard the first time for neon spinels from Namya, Burma and only in the West. Im more used to "neon" or "top quality". It doesnt matter much as they are hardly to overlookIMG_1662.jpeg

I remember well not buying a beautiful 2ct. Namya cushion one, 12 years ago, as it had a hint of pink and I thought 2k/ct. is much to crazy priced.‍ The last Namya I saw two years ago was rough small (~1.5ct.) not fully eyeclean for 15k/ct.!! Just very crazy in the meanwhile for the very fine quality stuff!!!

The special thing and what takes the jedi's above of other stones are for me the glow in low light conditions whitch makes them also very recognisable at a distance of few meters. Compared to other fine stones like pigeon blood rubies, cornflower blue sapphires, ect. is that they dont pop up such extreme in low light as those jedi's. Best pink sapphires or neon lemon yellow chrysoberyl with a hint of green from Orissa need bit more light and can only almost reach that saturation and color intensity. Ive only seen it in neon cobalt spinel's and in top saturated Vanadium chrysoberyl's. Those jedis, neon cobalts and top Vanadium chrysos are my most loved gems beside other very fine quality rubies, sapphires and spinels.IMG_1669.png

I totally know that feeling. I sold a 2.13ct cushion back in 2016 for like $2500/ct (ish?). It was super clean, well-cut, fluorescent, AGL Cert...all the things. I still kick myself :wall:

Mindblowing, what a win!!

A win for the person I sold it to :lol-2:

Wait - oh no! I thought it was the beauty you recently purchased. I was so taken by the picture that I didn’t read the text :roll2:

Oh well, still mindblowing…and a win, not for you though :(

Using tweezers to photograph the gemstone will make it look more vivid. In my experience, this spinel has a rich fire, but the body color is darker, so it is more beautiful when facing the light, but there will be dark areas in the indirect light. The actual visual effect under natural light is marked with green circles in the picture below. Some laboratories may give it Jedi spinel (the green circles are all GUILD Jedi spinel). Beautiful red spinel, but the body color is darker than the real Jedi spinel.
