Think about a stone like this - beautifully cut stone with a vendor with a great upgrade policy if you ever decided you did want to upgrade your ring. This stone in a simple setting would not be much over the original cluster ring posted and would probably provide about the same finger coverage.

Welcome Jenna! Well I'll be the voice of dissent. I love cluster rings; I think they're affordable and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

James Allen has a really nice line of these rings, and they use very white and nicely cut diamonds.

I'm with you, Laila. If they're nice diamonds, they can be utterly gorgeous. JA's diamond quality in these rings is G/H and SI1 - VERY respectable! I also think JA's line is closer to a halo than a cluster. Nothing 'tacky' about that!

And although I love vintage and antique and pre-loved jewelry - all of it! - sometimes a girl would like something 'only hers' for an engagement ring.
