There are soooo many alarm bells ringing on that listing
 
I suspect major photoshopping especially if you look at the profile view. Add to the fact that it is flawless, well....it is likely to be synthetic, probably even the new-ish flux fusion synthetic spinel which is impossible to ID using the usual RI and SG methods.
 
Yeah I would steer clear. Look at some of the completed transactions...a nice darker 2.5ct Tanzanite for $20? A 2.67 Mandarin Spess for .99? There is something very wrong going on there....
 
Oh, and I missed the identical pink spinel, but in a 6.88ct round, which sold for $1.29. LOL!!!

Winning bid: $ 392.97. A steal if the stone indeed were as described... And waaay too much for a synthetic spinel.
