WTB ISO AGS 000 Whiteflash CBI BGD Diamond SI1+ I+ 1ct+ $20k budget

I’d just buy direct from a vendor with that budget, you‘ll have access to all the guarantees and upgrade policies which you won’t if you buy from a private seller. I’m sure you’ve looked already but here‘s an example,

I have to agree with @Snowdrop13 .
Your budget is perfect to get something incredible without forgoing all the perks of purchasing from a trusted vendor.

I would call Yekutiel from id jewelry, he can probably get you a dream of a ring and his service is incredible.

Updated link here. Buying for my girlfriend, thank you.

OP you have a healthy budget. Contact WF or HPD or BG directly and buy from them. Better protection and ability to upgrade!

This^

So many reasons to buy direct from a vendor.

Also may be unscrupulous people or bad people if u go with that amount of cash.
Maybe you need a appraiser to evaluate the stone and be a middleman if you are determined to go pre-owned

Loupe Troop Anyone out there? Let me know what you have :)

I have an ACA 1.30 JVS2 that hasn’t been worn much that is at the bank now. I don’t know if this fits what you’re looking for?

You should send me some info through the LT link, I'm interested. Thank you

Diamonds are priced lower now than in some previous years, so you are very unlikely to get a good deal second hand if people bought when prices are higher. As others have said, buy directly from the vendors.

You have been looking for a whole year now. Has nothing fit the bill? Perhaps you are looking for a deal that cannot be had. Owners of superideals usually have buyback policies they can use. And know the worth of their stone. Best to look for triple ex stones on ebay from broken relationships where they just want it gone if you want the most bang for your buck. I do this regularly for small stones.

just as others already have, i urge you to proceed with caution ...

purchasing directly from the vendor is not only much safer, in every way, but also affords you the benefit of future trade up/trade in abilities.

if you choose to proceed with a private seller, for your safety and benefit, i encourage you to use a reputable appraiser such as @denverappraiser as jewelry escrow. each party sends the appointed appraiser the goods and the funds, upon inspection and approval, the appraiser will facilitate accordingly and see to it that each party is provided what is owed to them

Advertising for a second hand super ideal gives me concerns that everything would go smoothly on both sides. I second the idea of using escrow.

It’s currently set in a 4 prong platinum solitaire size 6.

Please note that in the pictures attached as the solitaire is photographed with other rings.

I am interested, I would like all the info. I have an LT link, it is Here

Why does everything about this “search” make the hair on the back of my neck stand up? Great budget, buying direct much safer and the opportunity for an upgrade in the future with the vendor of choice.
if you are selling to this new member I would take every precaution.

Same feeling, @Mayk . .. Especially no advice/suggestion from long time members is even discussed. @idealw2boys , hope you saw @Mayk s post

the way i see, there are 4 legitimate reasons why the seller is letting go of her ags ideal diamond instead of utilizing her trade in, trade up, (possible) buy back option:

a) seller purchased the diamond preloved and is not entitled to any of those options

b) seller inherited the diamond and again is not entitled to any of those options

c) seller purchased at a low or a long time ago, and generally, diamond prices have since gone up, seller wishes to get closer to "market rate" instead of trading in, trading up, or possible buy back at the price in which she paid, minus 20%-25% for the buy back option (i don't believe all vendors of super ideal round brilliants offer a buy back option)

d) seller needs cash

by using jewelry escrow, the risks have been removed @denverappraiser

if it were me, i would go directly to the vendor. however, if for whatever reason i was compelled to purchase from a private party i would use jewelry escrow.

@737lizakg

ah, i see... i completely missed that. thank you for pointing it out:) i really don't know anything about either party. just hoping to be helpful with sound logic and reason.

I noticed the posting is down on LT. I am also concerned about the buyer.

I think what was weird was the buyer was looking for a personal transaction in loupetroop .. the Wording was weird

Thank you, @Mayk and @kipari for voicing this concern! I've wanted to say something but didn't feel qualified, as my experience has been limited to the CS world with little experience in diamonds.

One of the things about PS is that it is a community, so nothing wrong with new people on the hunt, but I at least expect some meaningful interaction with them. The fact that this buyer has so few posts on PS, and is so minimalist in their posts and responses, providing so little information, would absolutely make me steer clear of any transaction. The OP could be the nicest, most honest person on the planet, but it does not read that way to me.

"...could be the nicest, most honest person on the planet, but it does not read that way to me."

I really am, I'm sorry you got a terrible read. Unfortunately the suspicion and "chills up the spine" you ladies felt was primarily Pricescope's fault. The website here has a bug that doesn't allow characters like @#$%& in URLs posted, mine had a dollar sign. It no longer does. I wish I were permitted to edit my own posts to fix the links but this website doesn't have that feature either.

I'm really tempted to dive into my entire life's story right now but instead I'll just share a relevant truth with some of you. The world in your head is the world that is. Some of you will choose to twist my words and vilify me no matter what I say.

I'm here (in the Preloved section...) for a reason, and that reason is to attempt to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I would be happy to talk on the phone or email with @idealw2boys or anyone else who is willing to suspend the crucifixion until they've had a chance to actually interact with me. Thank you, Aaron

@aaronrun -

I've exchanged over half a dozen emails with the OP over the last year. Nothing shady to report, just a little unversed about what he's hoping to buy and how to go about it.

Aaron - you contacted me about my 1.4ct stone, then told me you were following different options. Then you contacted me about my 2 x .61 ACAs - but asked me about getting a lower price, when they were already well discounted for ACAs.

As someone way more experienced in this than you are, I can tell you it's possible you'll get a designer/name diamond at a bargain basement price from someone selling due to personal tragedy or financial ruin. It's possible. But it's very unlikely.

In the meantime - time ticks by. Share with us your situation pls - as in - is this meant to be an engagement ring? If so, what's your time frame? Because - you've been looking already for over a year and girls will only wait so long....

You need to be WAY more specific on what you want. I had a beautifully cut, incredibly white-for-its-grade 1.4ct I SI1 for sale for 7k. That hit all your stated bases - but you weren't interested. So - what is it that you *have* to have? You clearly have a mental list that my stone didn't tick. So - share with us what's on your list.

Pls be aware, if you want WF, CBI or BGD because of their upgrade policies - those policies won't apply to you as a re-buyer. If I were you, I'd be extending my search to Blue Nile. They have some gorgeous stones, and some of my BN diamonds have been used as trade ins to name diamond sellers and used/re-sold by those sellers as premium diamonds. So it does happen.

Since your budget is large, pls tell us - why are you not interested in buying new? Tell us a little more about your thinking. Maybe a lot more. If it's an I color, does it need to be higher clarity? Or if it's an I/SI soes it need to be much bigger than a ct? Or - will you accept closer to a ct...if it's colorless and VVS in clarity. Because 1ct i SI1 just doesn't equate to 20k. Alternately, would you rather spend more like 10k, but are willing to stretch to 20k...if you have to?

Fill us in pls.
