WTB ISO AGS 000 Whiteflash CBI BGD Diamond SI1+ I+ 1ct+ $20k budget

The requirements of the search are limited so that my chances of finding a fair value increase. I am fascinated by the super ideals and will consider buying any that are in that range.

I honestly don't remember the details of our business dealings but I wouldn't discuss it publicly even if I did. I do appreciate you vouching that I treated you like any other prospective buyer would.

Everyone says that good values never happen but recent history proves that wrong. Had I not taken an unfortunately timed break from looking you guys would have never had to read a post from me again. There's no way for me to determine if the seller will have a fair price until it happens. I've had people offer preloved G VS2 for $12500/carat, it really just depends. I'm leaving buying new as a last resort, no trade in guarantee is worth several thousand dollars in my opinion.

@aaronrun

hi, well ....

welcome back! i think most here are well intended and protective. i hope you didn't take offense. had you been the seller and someone felt "iffy" about it, you would be spoken up for. it sort of goes both ways. i do hope i am making some sense.

as long as a jewelry escrow is used, in this type of transaction, all the suspicions and such, even in the name of protection & safety, becomes largely, unnecessary.

i do want to offer an apology to you, for the "not very nice feelings" that you may have experienced.

trade ins/trade ups/buy backs are a very nice option to have for convenience. sometimes, that convenience does come at a cost....

one such scenarios is, if jane purchased a super ideal from one of the vendors when diamond prices are lower. then say, 3, 5 or 7 years down the line, diamond prices swing up. in this case it may not be monetarily advantageous, to trade in/trade up./buy back at the price in which she paid. it might be more advantageous to sell it a bit closer to market rate but it is more of a hassle. whereas going back to the vendor is more convenient

it would seem to me, that you are looking for, quite, a heavily discounted super ideal round brilliant with the seller you linked above. miraculously, i believe, it may still be available as the loupetroup link is still active. why have you not acquired it for yourself??

@Big Fat Facets

Thank you so much for your apology. You were never unfair in your posts the way some others were. It speaks to your character that you would say sorry anyways and I appreciate it.

The one additional piece of insight I can offer is that I am very fortunate to be with a girl who I believe understands the symbolism of the ring. She honestly has no expectations of what she specifically wants, she is leaving it completely up to me. It is the reason I am setting aside a fair bit of money. I want her to be happy for decades and I feel confident that whatever ring she first receives is the one she will plan to die with.

It was listed on here as sold months ago but I suppose I should have messaged anyway. Will give it a chance, nothing to lose.

"...could be the nicest, most honest person on the planet, but it does not read that way to me."

I really am, I'm sorry you got a terrible read. Unfortunately the suspicion and "chills up the spine" you ladies felt was primarily Pricescope's fault. The website here has a bug that doesn't allow characters like @#$%& in URLs posted, mine had a dollar sign. It no longer does. I wish I were permitted to edit my own posts to fix the links but this website doesn't have that feature either.

I'm really tempted to dive into my entire life's story right now but instead I'll just share a relevant truth with some of you. The world in your head is the world that is. Some of you will choose to twist my words and vilify me no matter what I say.

I'm here (in the Preloved section...) for a reason, and that reason is to attempt to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I would be happy to talk on the phone or email with @idealw2boys or anyone else who is willing to suspend the crucifixion until they've had a chance to actually interact with me. Thank you, Aaron

I am not cash strapped or under any kind of pressure to sell to anyone.
Since I wasn’t really actively looking to sell, but saw your posting as being interested in a super ideal stone from one of the 3 highest acclaimed diamond jewelers on PS in the size range that I have, I responded to your post.

With that said, I do have the AGS cert and can post it, but again, I’m not cash strapped, so if you’re looking for a person who is willing to sell for a huge discount, I will not be the person that will take a lowball offer.

My sale price will be in the high $7800 range near $8K for the stone by itself. The setting would be extra.

I of course will only sell through an appraiser accepting escrow.

Let me know if this still meets what you are looking for.

@idealw2boys

Thank you for your reply. I am fully interested, please message me at my Loupe Troop link.

I have been eager to see the cert or even just know the AGS number.

...the only caveat here is that for any transaction the seller will have their price and the buyer will have their price. A sale can't take place until the two intersect. This is like Economics 101 but it sure seems like some people don't understand that.

I would love to pay any price for any item but I'm not wealthy enough to not care. It has to make sense for both parties. If I can purchase a stone brand new from Whiteflash with all the "guarantee" stuff for $7000 or I can buy the "same" preloved stone for $7000 and then pay an additional fee to an escrow party then it is going to make for a pretty easy decision.

I'd prefer for people to not act like I inconvenienced them because I didn't like their price. Can't really control that though. I feel stupid spelling this all out but it is relevant.

Personally, I'm not sure why you're only interested in 3 brands, since so many cutters produce ideal cut stones. A certain brand doesn't make a stone ideal cut, tho it's much more likely to be, of course. With help, tho, you can find an equally well cut stone in various different places: Blue Nile, James Allen - as well as other premium diamond retailers like Victor Canera (who cuts my favorite round brilliants), Good Old Gold - and various others.

If saving money is your object, you're missing some excellent options here.

You still haven't given us a sense of your time frame. The only thing that seems odd to me is that you've said you'd like to get engaged - then seem to have no time frame for it.

As for 'the buyer having their price' - since you're talking about something between 7 and 20k, without specifying what would push you to either end of that range, it's almost impossible to help you. my diamond is long gone at this point, but since I was selling an ideal cut stone within your specs at a bargain basement price - and it *didn't* hit the mark, I'm just not sure what it is you're looking for.

And re *this*:

"I honestly don't remember the details of our business dealings but I wouldn't discuss it publicly even if I did. I do appreciate you vouching that I treated you like any other prospective buyer would."

...we didn't have any business dealings. I sent you a GIA cert and then you disappeared, telling me you were pursuing different options (which obviously fell through), then months later you wanted to low ball me on my ACA's. As I understood it, you were looking for a solitaire. Can you tell me why you were interested in a pair of much smaller diamonds? Something that occurs to me - are you looking to buy...then sell, and make a few bucks along the way? Because it seems to me that, if you're only interested in the three most popular brands on PS, it may be because you're looking to buy at a deep discount, then re-sell, knowing you'll almost certainly find a market here.

What I think you don't understand is that so many of us here know each other. We sell and buy from each other all the time. As such, most transactions are friendly, chatty, open and easy. So when you say you treated me like any other prospective buyer would - that's not quiiiite correct.

I do wish you well, of course. But without a LOT more info on what you're looking for, this whole 'search for a diamond' is going to be hit and miss.

I've sold pieces that were substantially more than 20k through Loupe Troop and PriceScope, and didn't use escrow. I would in this situation, tho.

Have you considered a super ideal lab grown diamond? If you want maximum bang for your buck and do not care about any sort of upgrade policy, that could well be worth looking in to.

I think
