Hey Everyone, I hope all is well.

Well, it is that time... time to look at engagement rings!!!

I was wondering if anyone has heard of Israel Diamond Supply. There is a store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While I was mainly searching on-line, I heard wonderful things about this place from my friends at work.

My boyfriend and I visited the place, and they were very informative and straightforward. We looked at a G, SI1 Ideal cut diamond graded by the GIA. The guy pulled out the lab report, gave us a loupe (for us to keep) and walked us through the process of finding the flaws in the diamond. I thought that was very interesting, as we had visited the places in the mall and they all stated (of course), "This diamond is eye clean" yadda yadda yadda. This guy showed us the flaws of the diamond (which were very hard for me to see).

He also encouraged us to look at other stores, and told us to take the loupe with us. I told him I was mainly looking at online stores, and he basically said that online stores are great as well. He was not pushing the sale, and I really liked that.

While the stone I was looking at was already set, the salesman stated that they had a lot of loose stones. He further stated that I was more than welcome to come in and look through them (look through the reports, and they would bring out stones I was interested in.

When it came to price, they were extremely comparable to the online venders (on average about $100 more).

My question is whether anyone has heard about them. We bought my promise ring online, and I am extremely satisfied with it.

Thanks a bunch! Have a great day

Mary

I just did a search for this store and found some information on this website. The salesman I talked to, however, said that they would gladly take the stone over to an independent appraiser of my choice.

Sounds like you have found a local dealer who is willing to work with you honestly and willing to honestly educate you about diamonds.

For a $100 (or even more) - I would go for it. The local jewelers often offer minor free services on your ring for years to come. Well worth it.

I would next get into a discussion on cut (super ideal, etc).

Remember to take him up on his ofter to send it to an independent appraiser.

I wish you well.

How about this sight-seeing tool after the loupe ?

how do you know the G SI1 stone was an ideal cut? did he show you a sarin report?

It seems like you are going in the right direction. The major difference between what is told to you and what you see. I have heard about israel diamond supply in tulsa and they are great to work with. They sold my friend a diamond in Chicago and it was tough to find anything close to their prices. They are deffinately wholesale!!!

I read your question about Israel Diamond Supply in Tulsa, OK. I know several friends who have had similar wonderful experiences there. One of my friends I work with, and the other is the son of my next door neighbor. They both had nothing but praise for the way they were treated with respect and complete attention. They were neither one in a position to buy very expensive diamonds and mountings, and yet the sales people treated them as if they were Liz Taylor! My son is getting ready to propose to a wonderful young lady

, and I''ve suggested that he go over to Israel Diamond Supply to do make his selection. The store is about a mile from my home, and based on what you said and my other friends have said, I don''t think he could go wrong.
