Valeria....you''re a genious!!!

(I like the version with two long bags on each side rather than three...keeps that "long and lean" look going....)

what fun!

THANKS VALERIA!! You are incredible!! I honestly think its between the 2 long baguettes and the traps- Actually this ring is like my 4th ring- I started with a half carat marquise, then went to a 1.70 marquise, and I I just traded my 4.48 ct marquise for this. Its a huge change but I couldnt resist !!Still married to the same man though! I have that 1.30 ct round shared prong band that I will probably wear with it. Now what is an RHR? Since this is my first time posting a topic, Im not familiar with RHR?

I keep coming back to look at this stone--it is amazing, just amazing. You could wind a wad of gum around your finger and stick it in and it would look outrageous...of course, what you are planning will be just incredible.

It don''t mean a thing if it ain''t got that bling.

Daaaaaayummmmmm
that''s going to be incredible.

What EVER you do, this is going to be one gorgeous ring!!!!!

Oh- Right hand ring- Makes sense!! No, it will have a home on my left hand. I wish you all could see the stone in person, It is AMAZING!! It has so much personality. It blew my other one away- its just so unique. Once I decide on the mounting, ts going to take about 2-3 weeks till I get it completed. Im trying not to rush because this is such a special stone and it has to be perfect!

holy crap! i don''t know how i missed this for two days. that stone is beautiful! can''t wait to see the finished ring

WOW!! What a stone! Are you doing the 18kt gold setting for that rock? My husband wants have a ring made or me with a 1/2 - 1ct canary diamond for a big anniversary (was he thinking 10th or 25th?) ....do you think I can convince him that 4 is "big"?? LOL! I can''t wait that long after seeing your scrumptious stone!

Just wanted to throw in a vote for trapezoids, which have become one of my fetish sidestones.

And holy mother your diamond is cool!
30.gif

I think I am doing the trapezoids- I have put all these pictures that Valeria did for me on my scrren saver and have been staing at them constantly!!! But the traps keep jumping out at me ! At first I pictured the halo with it and really long traps- I am getting that pair in I posted on memo and Im going to see how they face up- I think Im doing the head in 18 karat gold- Im not sure though- I may do it in platinum with a 22 kt underneath usually the fancies have gold underneath or are set in yellow to bring the color of the stone out more, but I REALLY like the color the way it is !!

Love everything about it! So different and yummy at the same time.

Question: WHERE did you get that!?! Sources, we need sources!

The stone came from Isreal - I have my own diamond business and I when I saw it I had to have it. I needed some opinions from you guys who are obsessed about diamonds as much as me! My husband hears it ALL the time !! I have asked him and he is like - It dosen''t matter! And I''m like, OH YES IT DOES!! The traps are on their way!!

Ok...I know I am jumping the gun but I just canNOT wait to see the finished product!!!

Incredible! I cannot wait to see the final ring!

Hi, Radianttiff....

I just looked over this thread and couldn''t find any stats on your beautiful stone...did I miss it? Is it certified? What do they call the color? In one picture, it looks yellow/orange, another yellow/?....is it intense? vivid?

Whatever it is, it''s drop dead gorgeous!!

No, It dosen''t have a lab report yet- I have to send it off to GIA to get the report done but I totally don''t want to, but I know I have to- Don''t want to let it out of sight!! I do know that its 5.97 cts, it is natural color (he was preparing to send it to GIA but then I "interrupted" the process", its a DIAMOND (I tested it) measures 14.2 long by 8.2 wide, its AT LEAST a VVS1!! I have looked at it under a microscope, at 400 power and with a 10 power and a 20 power loupe for hours and cannot find ANYTHING in the stone, so it may be IF or FL. I do know it has strong blue flourescense, because I tested that too. My dealer said its a Fancy Intense yellow , but I think it may be a fancy intense brownish yellow. The color is stunning- It looks golden- its not schoolbus yellow, but Golden is the perfect word for it. Its clearly yellow, but It looks like you took an ounce of gold paint and some glitter, poured it in the stone, shook it up, and now there''s a big party going on
36.gif
I just LOVE the stone. That''s really all I know at this point- The last stone I had, the same thing happened- I bought it after it came in overseas, and I never sent it off!! I just knew I wanted it. So eventually I have to send it off.
7.gif
Right now Im still deciding on the setting- just takin'' my time!

I''ll be the lone voice here that says that such a stunning and HUGE

stone does not need any side accents. I would have it with a pave split shank (Think daniel k) just to have some white sparklies to complement the yellow, but otherwise I''d leave that beauty in the spotlight on its own.

just my 2 cents

Here is the picture of a ring that I was considering setting the yellow with- I REALLY like this design- The ony thing I''m afraid of is I don''t want it to look like a "fashion ring" I swear, some people who I have showed it to, said" what is that a citrine or a sapphire" - They dont know much about diamonds whatsoever! But Im afarid if I set it like this it will reinforce that- This way would certainly be less expensive- but at this point...... Oh- the traps will be here today, so I will see how those look..

I have always LOVED this style of ring - I love the long look I like emerald cuts, but I cant get enough of that "cracked ice" look that is charachteristic of a radiant!!!!- I remember a ring I saw about 15 years ago in a shop and the center was like a 6 carat emerald cut and there were two more like 3 carats on the side and the one thing I remember was how elegant it was- the stones were very long and skinny and it was just UNBELIEVABLE!

Just had this in a file of eye candy.

Guess what!!! I JUST found 2 matching baguettes that are VS - H color, and they measure 8.2 mm long by 2.3 wide, them another pair that match which are 5.9 x 1.9- this will look Like that AWESOME picture Valeria posted for me- I got the traps in and They are very nice, but they are not phenomenal for what they cost- these baguettes are half the price and I think will be STUNNING!!!!!!!!! Yay

Here are the baguettes- the picture is kinda fuzzy...

This is going to be SOMETHING ELSE.

(I favored the stepped baguettes anyway

)

I think they''ll set off that incredible stone to it''s best advantage. Can''t wait to see the finished ring!!!!

How long before se get to see them mounted? Are you going to send it off to the GIA first??

widget

Yeah- Im sending it off before I set it- When its gone I can get the mounting made, so when it gets back it will have a home!!!! I honestly LOVE those baguettes- and My custom lady had them in her parcels of baguettes- Duh- didn''t think to ask her- I think im trying to talk myself into the traps and really they are not long enough (7.5mm) but these are like.. WOW.... tHANKS to Valeria for her idea!! Sounds like Im heading in that direction. Do you like this idea better than the trillion ring I posted some time back?

love the baguettes! ooooooh my i cannot wait to see this baby finished!

gosh so many options!! i don't really love the staggered/stepping stone baguettes look on this particular stone as much as i think something like that split shank picture you posted RadiantTiff, like britney's ring, would really showcase this stone...i think it almost would look best standing alone amidst some blingy white pave!! that's my vote so far.

oh and re: the fear of it being labeled a fashion stone, unfortunately with a stone that size even if you flank it with tons of diamonds, you will probably still most likely be asked re: cz's or sapphire etc...because it's such a large stone that the average person would not be wearing that thing around!! but if you move in circles where that kind of bling is a daily occurence, then i don't think you would have to worry much!

Do you have all the stones (traps, baguettes, trillion and center) at hand ? Those must be fun to play with if anything is!

All would be nice, of course. And no one can see them in flesh but you...

The split shank is great as well - it is all left to your choice, I am affraid

take a look on the website of Royal Asscher for their "diamond thread" jewelry - that is a sort of thin, rounded paved bands used for rings, earrings and necklaces which combine engraving and pave to create a textured look. If there is any way to see the things in person, even better. I am not a big fan of pave, but those designs just stood out.

Can''t wait to hear about your decision!
