Hi my Italian boyfriend''s - mom''s name is Domenica. Prononounced - Do-me-ni-ca (it means Sunday)

It sounds anglicized if the second syllable is pronounced "me". In Italian it is pronounced "Dough-may-nee-cah". ;-)

I love Italian baby names! My husband is 1/2 Italian, and his cousin has two beautiful girls with her former husband, who is 100% Italian. Their names are Isabella Peppina (Peppina apparently means "baby") and Allessandra. Their last name is super long, hard to spell (even for me, and I''m an adult--I have to look up their address every time I send them something!) but their mother has made sure they both knew how to spell their whole names by the time they got to school!
