It''s done! A 1.60 J SI2 has found a new home...

I think it also has something to do with the size of the stone and the configuration of the prongs, in conjunction with positioning of the stone so that the inscription is visible. I''m sure on certain stones in certain settings, there is no way to accomplish both keeping the arrows from under the prongs, AND make the inscription visible.

Everyone keeps mentioning the ''turning of the arrows'' so they aren''t under the prongs.

A thought on that: I suspect the primary goal when setting the stone is to make sure the girdle inscription is visible.

I suspect that the reason the arrows were set slightly under the prongs on Mara''s last stone was the result of trying to make sure the inscription was visible.

It seems, though, that in this case, the inscription didn''t interfere with that placement, which is awesome.

Love those arrow sparkles, Seven!!! My favorite has to be the 3c mockup...hee hee!!!

Does anyone else who has a stone with prominent arrows notice that 99% of the big 'sparkles' from the ring come from the arrow heads? Last nite we were at a huge church in SF for a concert Greg played and the church lights were doing the most amazing things ever to my rings, honestly it is the best lighting I have EVER seen for diamonds, couldn't even move my hand without getting large bursts of scintillating colored light. I noticed last nite again that most of the biggest flashes came from the arrow heads. Have noticed it before, but last nite it was very obvious.

Anyone else notice this?? The arrows are definitely one of my most favorite parts about my stone, and my previous H SI.

yes, the arrow heads do bring out the biggest flashes,it was smart of you not to cover any of the arrows,did you request wf not cover up the arrow heads with prongs?

well unless i can get jennifer's hubby to hypnotize greg and work some magic...aka look deep into my eyes greg..and repeat after me...gucci purses and diamonds go hand in hand at least once a month!

prescription- a couple of months in France, but not the south... some major stones there. sigh.

i understand the insanity(my mind plays shrinkage tricks on me too) but your ring is *gorge*! maybe put it away for a few days..re-set your brain & eyes?

KaylaG...I know the center stone is huge, I still marvel at it...but then there are those times that I think 'hmm its such a long way from covering my whole finger!'

It's a good thing I am cut off for the rest of the year!

Oh and I keep going back and looking at Precious Jewels J 3c .... mmmmm.

Inspired by the recent 1.15 D VS1 thread's awesome arrow pictures I attempted YET AGAIN to take photographs as awesome. Unfortunately, all attempts failed...

...I am convinced its my camera and NOT my abilities.

Just more reason to get a new camera later this year!

Did get a few somewhat cool shots, my fave here being the 3rd one of the ring at an angle on the desk. Looks so big.

Nice view of the prongs too and the head.
