I can''t thank you all enough for educating me on diamonds and helping me through the process by your posts. I rarely post threads here, but I''m always reading the threads here since I joined to learn about stones (even when I wasn''t in the active pursuit of a stone). I would have never realized Brian started his own venture outside of WF without people mentioning it on here. Because of all of this, I ended up with a beautiful engagement ring which I can''t wait to propose to my amazing gf with this weekend.

Special thanks to Lesley and Brian at BGD who are exemplary and rare examples of what superior customer service is all about. I could call them at 10 pm to get an answer to any one of my questions without any hassle. It was such a great experience talking to Brian about the stone, the current happenings in the market and the setting. On top of all that, they worked within a pretty short time frame to make exactly what I wanted.

Also wanted to thank the people at WF who helped in the process and were great and prompt w/answering my questions.

Haha, sounds like I''m accepting an award, but I just had to express my appreciation for this forum and the people associated with it.

Attached are pics of the ring. Stone = 2.031 ct., H, eye clean SI1, AGS 0 light perf/polish (1 on symmetry b/c of meet pt issue). Just picked it up at lunch and it looks amazing.

Let me know your thoughts (honestly!)
Beautiful diamond and design.
What is that surprise stone a sapphire?

Thanks all for the compliments! It's been a while, but just thought I'd update you guys. I proposed to her a few weeks ago and she loved the ring. She knows nothing about diamonds -- she calls her sister after the proposal and her sis asked about the ring & stone. She said "I don't know" when her sis asked her about the type of stone (princess/round/etc.). Lol, after that I told her the details on the stone and, a few weeks later, we went together to get the appraisal done.

I was even more impressed with the stone when the appraiser had a difficult time determining the color on it (his best guess was a F/G) and clarity ("maybe a VS2"). Granted, some of that could have been from it being set already, but I'm sure the excellent cut played a part as well.

The hidden stone was a pink sapphire :) I'll post up the proposal story in the appropriate forum w/the pics.
I'll also be getting my band from Brian.

Wow....what a beautiful stone and setting. Would it be impolite to ask around what you paid for such an extraordinary combination?

Fantastic! It is a great combination of classic + youthful. It is both fun and elegant. I love it. I hope she does too!

How perfect! That looks like a great ring for a fun-loving gal

It''s just the right mix of youth and elegance, as the prev. poster said.

Come back with handshots!!

Let me pick my jaw up off the floor.....

STUNNING!!

gemnewbie, I'd rather not say the cost because I feel Brian gave me a good price on it and I'm not sure what went into it in terms of his margin.

Attached is a handshot taken the night of the proposal (finally!). I'll post more pics of it when I get around to posting the thread on how I proposed :)

It is quite simply a beautiful ring. Brian and Lesley are amazing! I saw your ring on his website and was hoping you would come here and post
