I also love it when we''re talking about our future life in London. I just got a job teaching music in a special needs school and was first afraid it would be too big of a transition for him (his parents keep him very sheltered and his whole family has stayed in the same town their whole lives), but he says he wants to be with me and thinks it will be good for him. So, I love it when he''s telling me about how nice it will be to live on the outskirts of the city, when we can go into the center of London when we feel like it, or just as easily escape from city life going the opposite direction into the countryside (which we both prefer). Plus he tells me that, if I don''t want to settle in the UK permanently, that he will be happy to move to the US. He says he will live anywhere in the world, as long as he''s with me. He usually tags on ''even France'' when saying so too.

We''re still (but not for much longer!) in a long-distance relationship, and when I went up to visit him a couple of weeks ago, he had made me this fabulous cream & jam cake (first cake he''s ever baked). He originally wanted to make me a coffee cake (with coffee in it) or a chocolate cake, but I''m currently on a restricted diet and can''t have either coffee or chocolate--I''d said, ''You know, honey, if you really want to try out the coffee cake, it''s fine, I''ll just have a little, make what you like'' (he LOVES coffee-flavoured sweets). He replied with, ''This is YOUR cake, I''m not going to make something that could make you sick! No coffee or chocolate, I will make those when you are better.'' So he made the cream & jam cake and it was divine.

Congrats on the new job! I''ll be closing the distance with my SO soon, too (2 weeks...!).

Thank you so much, KimberlyH and absolut_blonde! I just sent the school my email confirming that I will sign a contract with them, and that should be next week and I sign and make it totally official! Woohoooooo! Thanks for being excited with me!

awww this is such a cute thread :)

you''re all a bunch of lucky ladies from the sounds of it!

My fiance does the cutest things.
- He carries my handbag for me when it''s overloaded with uni books and it''s really heavy.... or he holds my purse when we go out and I dance with friends ....hmmm maybe he just likes handbags? scary thought... hehe
-He cooks almost all of the time
-He helps me with uni assignments wherever he can
-He buys me cute little presents - the other day it was bed socks!
-He sends me text messages simply saying ''I love you'' when I''m just in another room of the house (cute!)

*sigh* he really is a winner...

SO made breakfast for my sister and I this Sunday morning. :) Plated and served. It reminded me of undergrad, when he would make me omelettes, and subsequently make omelettes for all of my roomies... then he would run out of food, and have nothing to eat

Also, SO fretted all weekend when we were choosing wines to drink, making sure that I got sparkly sweet wines, because that is what my sister likes. I love that he is so thoughtful, though I HATED having to share my weekend

This is such a sweet thread and I couldn''t help but chime in...

My BF is great! One day I was emotionally all over the place, and just a complete wreck. Everything upset me, and I was just so out of it. So after lunch, we get back in his truck and he says that he has figured out what is wrong with me, I needed a "princess day". So we go to the grocery store, he leads me around and picks out all my favorite junk food, some flowers, and a movie I had been dying to see. Once we got home, while I was getting spoons for the ice cream, he makes me a crown and writes princess on it.

He''s great! I could go on and on. Here''s a few other tidbits...

He knows I love flowers, so he picks flowers on his way home from work. He even points out that he doesn''t cheat and pick the planted wild flowers.

He knows I desperately want a puppy since I''ve never had one, so he buys me stuffed animals at random or draws me pictures with puppies!

Sorry it''s so long. I love this man!

This is a VERY adorable thread! I think with how hetic and frustrating life can get at times it''s important to ALWAYS appricate the little things!!

My bf has to get up much earlier than I do in the morning, and ever since we where just dateing he always, every single work day, sends me a good morning text message when he gets to work, saying how much I mean to him and how he''s looking forward to spending time with me, and letting me know he got there safey (because I''m a worrier!) Every morning the first thing I do is grab my phone to read my message from him, it''s a great start to my day and always reminds me how lucky I am!

Also, I have to add this cause it was so flipping cute..

The other evening after we got done working I was going to see a movie with on of my friends and my SO was going to buy new tires, well.. we didnt have time for dinner and I had not eaten lunch, and I expressed how hungrey I was before I left. When I was pulling up to my house after the movie was over (10 o''clock at night) he had all the little summer string lights light up (it looked so pretty!) and was grilling some food. We sat out there until he was done then he took me insdie and had the table filled with my favorite grill foods and glasses of wine! I just thought it was so thoughtful, I almost cried! lol!

I agree with the rest, I love this thread.. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside..
My DH, brings me meds and tuck me in bed when I am sick. Does my laundry. Buys my fave drink when he does the groceries. Drags me to exericse with him.. And a few days ago wrote me a poem because I am feeling down.. What a husband! I love him..

My sweetheart does so many nice things for me, it''s hard to single things out to post! I feel so lucky!

When my BF and I were first dating, I was amassing a collection of vintage advertisements to frame and hang in my bathroom. He surprised me with a set of 1960''s Chevrolet ads to include in the collection. That was an unexpected gesture and so thoughtful!

Whenever we have to part ways and go to our respective homes for the evening, he always calls me when he gets home to make sure I am safe and to let me know that he is safe. Fortunately, we don''t have to worry about this anymore - we will be living together by the end of this weekend.

The first day I brought some of my things over, he was so excited that he made us an amazing dinner and then set up a romantic bubble bath with candles and everything.

My favorite thing he does is so sweet. Whether we are in public with family or friends or it''s just the two of us in private, he will gently squeeze my hand three times for "I love you." I can answer back "I love you too" with four squeezes. It''s so adorable and so "him" that I want to engrave his future wedding band on the inside with "Three Squeezes" and our wedding date.

This morning I had one of those moments where you''re just struck by how much you love the person you''re with. I was looking for my cell phone and found it--connected to the charger, where bf had put it last night before we went to bed. I know it sounds silly, but I love that he does little things like make sure my phone is charged for me without even thinking about it.

He''s not one for grand romantic gestures all the time, but I''d rather have all the little things he does on a daily basis anyhow. I''m just thrilled that I''ve found someone so wonderful (and I told him so, too!)

What little thing has your bf done recently that just made you swoon?
Oh ladypirate our guys sound the same. It is so true though the little things matter so much, however I wouldn''t mind if my guy were a little more traditionally romantic!!!

Hopefully he is saving it all for the most romantic proposal I could ever dream of...

Ok this is a teeny tiny thing, but last night the BF and I were at a baseball game with a bunch of friends. I told him I was thirsty so he went to get me something to drink. He came back with a rootbeer float!! I''ve been craving one forever, I love rootbeer and ice cream.. hehe I was just so excited that he remembered!! I know it''s such a simple thing, but it wasnt expected.. and it was deicious!!
