Last year my (now) DH and I began the journey of creating my future engagement ring. It started with a wonderful trip to NYC to choose a diamond in person, in which we ultimately chose one from ID Jewelry (IDJ). It's a 3.01ct D/VS1 asscher with beautiful strong blue fluorescence. You can read about that experience and photos of our diamond here.
After we purchased our diamond, we set about choosing a designer to bring our vision for my ring to life. We had a very specific idea in mind, both in terms of the feel of my ring as well as specific elements. Based on recommendations from this board, we ultimately decided to go with Caysie of CvB Inspired Design. That experience had its highs and lows, with many issues along the way that unfortunately tainted the experience. If you want to read the entirety of the experience, you can find the thread here. If you'd rather only have an overview of the design, here you go!
We wanted to create a ring that evoked a vintage feel but wasn't overly ornate. We also wanted to incorporate elements that were meaningful to us. I decided to name the ring after my maternal grandmother, who was one of the most beautiful women I've ever known. She was stylish and elegant, extremely kind, loved jewelry, and always had her fingernails painted! I lost her when I was only 15 years old but I know she would have loved this design very much
Here's what we sent to Caysie: The first photo is a drawing I did showing my desire for the profile view, and the second photo is a collage of details to use - the desired shape of the tulip (r), striations for the shank using a souvenir from a previous vacation, the top view of the diamond's halo, and the monogram to make in to my ring's gallery.
We also decided to have FH's wedding band custom made and I sent this to Caysie for his design (made with rose gold and platinum):
For my wedding bands, we chose two of her stock designs, one in rose gold and one in platinum.
And so, without further ado, I present to you Isabella and her merry band of bands
