I saw a "tip" on a wedding invitation site that suggested you number the response cards inconspicuously on the back because people forget to WRITE THEIR NAMES ON THEM!! I thought to myself, oh puh-lease, my friends aren''t THAT absentminded.

Well, who''s the dumb-a$$ now?!!?!?

We only sent out 20 invitations total. Have received 12 response cards back so far and TWO didn''t have anything but "accepts" checked! LOL!!! OMG! My friends ARE that dumb!

Luckily we only have one friend in Memphis so we know which unsigned card was hers. We figured it out by the postage markings on the envelop. The other unidentified one came today and it''s from Baltimore where there are several possibilities. I''m think I''m going to start a bet with FI on how many more come in this way.

So gals, leave nothing to chance.....they really are that dumb!!!

I numbered mine

we have a dinner choice, I am hoping that people do not forget to specify for BOTH parties invited, but I have a feeling that my loved ones will behave much like yours

My goodness, I''ve never even thought of that before.

Thanks for the tip, and hope the rest of the responses are complete!

Uh... they''re just super excited to get that card back to you.

We got one unnamed as well! Thankfully I had numbered my cards in pencil, and we were really surprised to know it came from FI''s aunt who is very ''proper'' and a stickler for doing things right. So bizarre!

Noooo, I forgot to number mine! I''m hoping that everyone writes their name on them otherwise I''m in trouble!

Wow.

We''re still waiting on a few, but so far all of ours have had names on them! I guess I should be glad for small things!

Can you tell by the postmark who they''re from?

Oh, even funnier--we numbered ours, and our guest list was alphabetized. I got a phone call after the invitations went out from MY MOTHER, who was very upset to "discover" that she was ranked #68 in importance to us. I had to explain to her that the number on the back was where she fell in line alphabetically, but she was actually upset about this!!!! I couldn''t even believe that she noticed it--I wrote it, LIGHTLY in pencil, and it was the equivalent of 8 point font in size!

Hahaha! Funniest part was my mom was the first person whose name I wrote on the guest list! Even funnier--at the wedding, our idiot wedding coordinator sent my mom and stepmother down the aisle in the wrong order. Mom said later, being goofy, "it was because I was number 68, wasn't it?" At least Mom can make fun of herself!

ETA Doncha just love how I say, "this is the funniest thing...but THIS was even funnier than the funniest?" I'm goofy!

Haha, add to the list off things "you think your family would never do" and then DO....

-not rsvp, and the SHOW UP at the wedding, just assuming there will be a place for them to sit and your will be able to accomodate them

-IGNORE the placecards that you spent time doing and your poor wedding planner spent an hour lining up perfectly because she is obsessive compulsive (lol my least favorite thing to do), and just sit WHEREVER THEY LIKE, causing problems for people who did take their placecard because now their table is full

Gotta love family!

My friend numbered her reply cards (with a tiny little number on the back) so I can only assume that they have a master list somewhere of what invites went where.

Though, I''m not sure which is more annoying- having to write in each person''s name or numbering them and making a list of the names and corresponding numbers on your computer.

Good luck figuring out the mystery B-more wedding guest!

I don''t have to worry about this at all, because I did the recipients return address for every single one of my RSVP envelopes. So even if someone forgets to write their name, I just have to look at the envelope it came in! Smart-right???

haha. we did that, and my mom forgot to keep a list w/ who the numbered cards went too. the declines had more of that issue happeneing. The funnier ones were whne people accepted or declined and put Mr and Mrs Smith or Mr and MrsJones accept. Not their fist names. Do you know how many Mr&Mrs Smith''s there are at a Smith-Jones Wedding?> hahah!
