I''ve given up on the halo idea...how about a 3 stone??

So as some of you already know im trying to add some bling to my engagement ring. I cant replace the diamond because it was my mothers, i was originally considering having my jeweler add a custom halo to my already custom made ring by them, but now im getting a little scared and after talking to my husband he doesn''t like it either. So now i have been thinking of having my jeweler making it into a 3 stone ring. My stone is .31 carats, round, so I dont know what size the 2 other stones should be or what proportion they are supposed to be if you could please offer suggestions. Do you think this will add the extra bling I am going for? I was thinking this with an added top band to match my wedding band might do the trick. Let me know what you guys think. I value all your opinions so much!

I would like it to be the center stone, it has so much sentimental value that I would like it to be the main one! So I didnt know what the other 2 on the sides should be.

So you are looking at side stones of about 3-3.3mm in diameter, that is about a 0.1-0.14c size. These will best be source by the jeweler making your three stones ring as these are usually ungraded because of the size.

You will definitely get more bling by going with a three stone. Here are some pics of mine just for example. My center stone is .5 and sides are .25 each. I wear it as a RHR so I like that proportion. My finger is a size 5 just to get an idea of finger coverage. If you want to up the bling factor even more you could add channel set rounds in the shank too or pave shank.

I''ve got a .18ct stone that''s about 3.5mm, and I think something a little smaller would work for your ring. When I got the stone, I thought it was going to be reallllllly small, but it''s actually quite a nice size. I''m using mine for earrings, but when I got it I remember thinking it''d be a great side stone on a 3 stone ring.
