Jade Spring Bangle - my dreams have been fulfilled

So I've wanted a Jade spring bangle in forever. They call it a spring bangle when it's lavender with bits of green mixed it. It's hell on earth to find and to find in an attractive colour, the right size, affordable price and something that's not a fake.

Spring bangles also tend to be a bit gnarly as well since you've got two colors mixing which is ripe for impurities etc

So here it
is!!!! My newest bangle!!!!! I love love love love it so much!!!!! Cost me the earth and probably overpriced but the heart wants what it wants.

When I was little I'd go grocery shopping with my mother and see all these fake bangles for sale. They had some that were green and lavender in patches all spaced evenly. I loved the look of those bangles despite knowing that they were fake.

It gives me a thrill to own something where the stone actually formed this way naturally. But it was so difficult to find something within budget that I liked!!!!

This is also 13.9mm wide which makes me happy because I like thicker bangles!

wish I could be braver when it comes to Jade bangles. I just don’t feel confident judging whether or not the quality is there for the $$$$ asked.

53mm D shape at 13.9mm band thickness

I can get it on and off without soap.... but just. Like soap would make me feel like I'm not "stressing" the bangle. Actually I don't know if you can stress Jade by tugging at it but I just adore this one so much I'm babying it.

Spring is a pill to find. They often come with random dirt spots unless you have a handy $20k lying around!!!

With the benefit of hindsight I think I've been going "too big" on my bangles.

But they are good for the right hand which is very inflexible!

@mellowyellowgirl it has a fresh green and lavender colour, looks really nice on. I have to look up the terminology again, whether spring refers to the green or the purple part.

I tried on the 55.5mm oval again but it was not easy putting it on my left hand so I'm not sure if I should stick with something larger.

@Lovinggems I was toying with the idea of whether I could do the Gui Fei style. I thought 55mm would surely be safe. You've made me think otherwise!

@mellowyellowgirl at least I can fit the 55.5mm oval but not the 52.5mm d-round over my left hand. So I think the oval is bigger. It's just a nice to have to be able to fit over both hands, so don't discount oval if you see one you like! What is next on your wishlist?

Vendor then offered to have the bangle sent to her colleague for examination. But I had to pay the full amount first. I was told I could exchange or get a refund if I didn't like it.

These are the colleagues photos. They told me not to balk because they took the photo with an iphone and it looked worse than real life. I was fine with this color so I was happy to continue.



Bangle after it reached Hong Kong before it was sent to the lab.



And finally my photos just sitting in my kitchen. It turned out as I expected so no unpleasant surprises with this one.

I thought this might be useful for anyone contemplating a purchase from China.

@Lovinggems you won't believe me but I'm very satisfied right now!!!! Partly because this one cost me the earth!!! But I think I've built up a very colourful collection and I just love this one so so so so so much I'm not pining for anything.

I REALLY wanted a spring very very very badly. A spring with legitimate colour.

Here is a picture that captures the little flecks of green growing in the lavender. Pity it's not bright like the flecks on the inside of the bangle but such is life and natural jadeite!

I love how the bright green looks like it is just pouring out of the really concentrated spots, like it just couldn't be contained.
