January DC Area GTG!

Hey there ladies!

A few of us newer PS-ers had been chatting about having a DC Area GTG in January, after the craziness of the holidays!

I was thinking Saturday January 9 or Saturday January 23, both in the afternoon, for starters.

Not sure exactly what the plan for the day would be, though...possibly cupcakes, coffee, and sparkly browsing?

If you''re interested, chime in with whether the 9th or the 23rd is better, and what *you* would like to do for our GTG!!!

Sounds good to me! The 23rd probably works better for me, because it''s a little farther after holiday travel. I''m happy with doing anything. As far as good jewelry store browsing (if anyone''s interested) I would either recommend Tiny Jewel Box in downtown DC, or a trip to Tyson''s Corner for Tiffany''s, Cartier and Lilienquest & Beckstead.

Unfortunately, I can''t go to Intergem...

I''ll be in Ohio with SO celebrating my sister''s graduation with her Master''s Degree

and then celebrating an early Christmas with my family. We leave the morning of the 18th. *sigh* Maybe next time, though!!!

I vote for the 23rd because I''m 99 percent sure my ankle will be healed enough to drive by then, a necessity if we''re going to Tysons

Oh man. I''m close enough to go this sort of thing but Jan 23rd I am out of town and Jan 9th might be a Philly PS GTG. Darn! If it ends up not being one of those dates then I will try to pencil it in. Haven''t been to DC in a while.

Looks like people are mostly interested in the Tyson''s area, which is fine, but has anyone been to Tiny Jewel Box? I''ve seen their ads in the Washington Post, and I''ve always wanted to go there!

I haven''t been there before, and I, as well, would love to go! I''ve heard wonderful things about the store, and it''s Metro accessible, which may be easier for some people...plus there are a ton of places we can go in Dupont for either a full meal or coffee and pastries. (There''s a Melting Pot near there...we could get chocolate fonduuuueeeee...)

Mmmmm....coffee, pastries, and jewels (not necessarily in that order!) - sounds heavenly. No matter where or when the GTG is, I''ll meet you there anytime, vc10um!

Maybe someday we can organize all the nyc/philly/dc peeps for one big ol'' party. Boy would that be a lot of bling!

Oh man. That''d be AMAZING. Head into all the 5th Avenue stores...I''m salivating at the idea!!! Just $1 each way on MegaBus or Bolt Bus if you get your tix early!!!

Yes, I''ve been there, and they have some really beautiful jewelry. That would be a fun alternative to Tysons.

I''m with makingthegrade for the NYC/PHILLY/DC get together, that would be fun. I may also try to make the DC get together. My aunt lives in Herndon, VA and I may try to make a visit that weekend to meet up with you all. Maybe I can get her to join, she has lots of bling too. I have been to Tysons so that wouldn''t be a problem. Of course this is all depending on the weather. I''ll check back for more definite plans.

Well, vip, for your sake, so you can make sure to request off in time, why don''t we set the date for January 9 and plan on doing some sort of sweets and coffee/tea/other beverage intake along with browsing at the Tiny Jewel Box in Dupont Circle? (we can figure out time and sweets closer to the date)

Then, if we haven''t had enough of each other...or bling! (as if we can EVER get enough)...we can maybe turn around and plan a February GTG in Tysons? That way we get the little shop that''s Metro accessible, and then the big shops that are only vehicle accessible!
