Unfortunately I have to step out and change to a no..looks like we''re meeting a family member for dinner that Saturday.

good news! i went to see an orthopedic specialist today, and i might be able to be out and about by this weekend.

i''m actually able to bear more weight on my ankle, so i''m hoping i''ll be able to walk without crutches over the next couple of days. yipeee!

i''ll still keep you all posted just in case, but i''m pretty sure i''ll be ok by then. i might not be able to wear cute shoes that day (or walk as fast for that matter), but hopefully all the bling will be a distraction!

Getting SO excited for this weekend!

I think going to AfterWords might be the best option, and they shouldn''t be too crowded around 4 PM when we get done at TJB! They have a large variety of snacks and drinks and are on the same side of the circle as TJB, for those among us who are a bit gimpy

Well shoot. DH''s grandfather has not been doing well recently, and he''s taken a turn for the worse. DH flies out tomorrow for a last visit with him, so I will be flying solo with our 4 kids until Monday. I''d really wanted to make this GTG, but it''s not looking good, I''m afraid. And I''d even started to pack up some of my sparklies...

Thanks vc10um. I''m trying to figure out if I can still come for at least part of the time - maybe I can talk SIL into watching my kids (or heck, just drag them along with me, lol). I''ll keep watching to see where you all end up eating.

honestly though, it really doesn''t matter to me where we eat & drink and i really wouldn''t mind if we had to walk a little farther to do so. i''ll be happy as long as i get to do it with my fellow PS-er ladies!

vip - hope your ankle heals quickly! And hey, it''s only supposed to be a high of 31-degrees on Saturday, so I doubt anyone will be wearing super-cute shoes. I just got some boots that look like they were made for the frozen Tundra, and I swear, I''m not taking them off until March.

i just bought a pair of faux Uggs today! from what i can tell so far, they''re super warm and comfy so i''m definitely going to be sporting them on Saturday.

I will be down for the Martin Luther King weekend since it is a three-day weekend here in Connecticut where my daughter is in school and she wants to get down to Virginia to visit her friends there. I think it is a federal holiday, but I can''t remember if the Virginia schools are closed. I still get confused about certain days that schools close only in Connecticut or only in Virginia. Schools in Connecticut never close on Inauguration Day. They do close on Columbus Day and Veterans Day (I think). Well...I can''t remember anything now. But I''m going to miss the get together and I hope to get a detailed report! Vespergirl lives really close to where I do, but we have never met! Everyone give her a hug for me! (You''re hugging for two!)

MLK *should* mean a day off for all VA schools...but they may have taken it back with the week they had to cancel classes before Xmas from the huge snowstorm.

thing...for parking, there''s usually street parking available, but per DC standards, you might have to take a few loops around the block to find it. I generally have better luck North and West of the circle than South. North and slightly to the East might be okay, too.

I was partnered with my brother''s mother-in-law, who must be almost 80. The question we were asked was, "What would you name you first child or your next child if you had one now?". Marian, a religious Catholic woman, leaned over and whispered in my ear, "Miracle".

I am afraid that at this point in my life as well pregnancy could only come about through divine intervention. :-)

There are also some parking garages around the Dupont area, usually if you want to street park I think the west side of Dupont is easier than the east side. TJB is more downtown, so parking might be a little harder around there. Maybe though you could call the Mayflower hotel which is super close and see if they have parking and how much.

I''ll be in my rubber coated uggs which look only slightly less ugg like. :)

I''m excited to hear about Quest since I have a certain custom project in mind for the future and I''ve been mulling going local vs. taking a train up to NYC and trying out Leon M. This particular project is just a copy of a ring my mother has that I love, so I think it might be better to just work with a local jeweler. Unfortunatley I don''t have her ring with me even though she offered to let me wear it for a couple of months! I''m waiting until we''re ready to have it copied before I take it from her!

I''ll wear my new Costco huggies which I''m dying to post about but haven''t been able to take decent pictures of!
