Hi everyone! I’m interested in buying Jedi spinels from namya or mansin and it would be fantastic to see what you all have !

Sorry to be the ignoramus, but what are 'jedi' spinels? I assume they are pink in a way different from the sleepy, intense pinks of Mahenge?

I know @SparkliesLuver has two little side stones from Namya. I know this because the jealousy is real! :lol-2:

From what I understand. They are incredibly expensive. Every quote I've gotten has been insane. Like $10,000.

hehehe I do indeed have two tiny little Namya babies, and I love them more than I can express. :) I'm always on the lookout for the material too, @Gemobsessed! As @elle_71125 said though, the material is crazy expensive. I got a quote several years ago for a .86ct piece that I should have sucked up and bought but didn't. It's still for sale and is now many, many, many times more expensive and way outside my budget.

Let us know if/when you find anything!

These are lovely! What are the dimensions?

Sorry I should have mentioned that the photo I have attached is mine. I bought it recently but haven’t received it yet. It’s 5.5 by 4.5. Gosh I hope it shines like yours !

Haha so funny Elle :D

Definitely the jealousy is so real. I feel that every time to show a pic of your big blue on your gorgeous hands!

Thank you! I haven't measured them but I know they total .25ct together. So, small. ha ;) But they're the brightest stones I have!

Oh, wooooow! That's insane. I cannot wait to see what you think when it arrives. When will it arrive?!

haha Normally I try to let my CS take center stage, but I might try to set these as side stones someday with a unique antique diamond. We'll see! But yes, I'm sure they'll go to DK. :)

I’ve never heard of this kind of spinel, but it’s beautiful and one of a kind!!! It also really reminds me of paraibas in pink! It glows from the inside!!

@Gemobsessed is this your new holy grail?

From the article:
" Thus, we took to calling these glowing hot pink gems “Jedi” spinels, as they were untouched by the “dark side” ".

To my eye, the jedi spinels have a fairly strong purple and orange secondary, giving them a neon look.

What is the price per carat for the jedi spinel?

I thought they were called Jedi spinel because they glowed liked light sabers. They are so intense, they don’t look real.

Ah no because I figured I will need many diamonds for this! So I’ll have to wait a while

Yeah!! Do check out the gia article! It’s an interesting one

Here's mine, Dana from Mastercut Gems recut it for me. It went from 1.13 to 1.055 without loosing any size face up. It's hard to get an accurate picture of it, in real life it is a neon vibrant red with only a very slight amount of pink. After the recut it holds the colour in all lighting. I actually bought this off of loupe troop years ago for a very low price, and didn't think too much of it until I got it back from Dana.

The first picture is mine, the second is one Rachelle sent me.

Wow it’s gorgeous! 1 carat is fantastic. Your pic is very well taken. They are hard to photograph. It’s a masterpiece

I got mine from Abraham Gomez on Facebook. I got lucky. I had given up. Yours is red but mine is more pink.

Do you have any plans for setting? What are the dimensions?

Jedi -meaning it glows like a lightsabre is a term given to neon spinels from Man Sin, Namya and Burma. I've actually had spinels from Vietnam that were way cheaper that were almost the same colour. And of course the top Mahenge can be very similar too in colour and is generally cleaner overall and found in larger sizes. Jedi spinels can be hot pink or neon red. Dealers use the term for any bright neon stones from certain areas these days.... Sparklie's hot pink pair are pretty rare and came from me and I have a few tiny ones and a heap of uncut stuff lying around that I will get around to doing "something" with one day....

Very beautiful! I have mehenge spinel too and will compare next to the Jedi when I receive it.

I’m impossibly distracted by your blue Paraiba in your pic!!

Do share your uncut rough if possible :)

It's a dark rainy overcast day here so I can't get a neon photo of the stones but here are some Namya and Man Sin "Jedi" pink and red crystals by a window no lights on just natural lighting inside on a really dark dim day, they are the same colour as the stuff on my hand when they are in proper lighting so this is about as dull looking as they get.

Omg!!! @arkieb1 are pinks and reds your favourites or do you have tray of other colours too?
