Thank you, Chrono! Thank yuo for your advices re. the tanzanite. I shall tell the jeweler (Dave Hall from Seattle Diamonds) not to close the back. He has experience with setting tanzanites. He set my demantoid and my alexandrite.
Thank you, Loriken!. I shall post the shot taken by the appraiser. I have an old bracelet and it seems to match the ring. I hope that I could get two sapphires for earrings (sooner or later) and we were talking with my jeweler about setting my Gary's sapphire into a pendant.
What a gorgeous stone, crasru Your photos are great and I love the bit of violet you can see in the appraiser's pictures. The setting is very beautiful as well; the profile is gorgeous!
It's adorable that the bank teller made such enthusiastic comments! I love when people actually comment on jewelery rather than just darting quick looks at it
I'd like to hear about the red stone in the yellow gold setting. Is that your Gene ruby or maybe a stone from Uli? Beautiful, anyway.
BabyNurse - the small stone is Gene's lake Barringo ruby which to me looks more like an intense pink sapphire but it really does not matter. Setting by James Meyer. It is my "chastity belt", I put it on my middle finger so it fits snugly. If I gain weight, I'll have to cut it off, if I lose it, I shall be able to take it off. It prevented me from overeating on the cruise, it would be a shame to cut such a ring.
