Where could I get the jewellery for a little girl? I am looking for genuine stone if possible. Something not too expensive. Thank you.

How little?

How much do you want to spend? You could probably make something for her via one of the reliable ebay vendors listed in coloured stones.

I love aquamarine, amethyst, and garnet. Beautiful colors for a little one and can be found for less expensive.

Blue Nile has some pretty colored stone stuff. You might check them out for ideas.

^I like the idea of amethyst! My daughter is 5.5 and loves anything pink or purple. She has a few pieces of inexpensive jewelry and a Pandora bracelet that she wears on holidays/special occasions. That will probaby be it until she's a teen. My grandmother gave me several very nice pieces when I was little and half of them were lost fairly quickly, esp necklaces with fragile chains. Save the good stuff for later!

She will outgrow rings. A necklace/pendant is really nice. A bracelet (loose fitting such as a charm bracelet) is a good option too. It is our family tradition to give children (usually started when they are born) an "Add a Pearl ""necklace. You could start with seven pearls and add on each birthday or a special occasion. I still have mine and both my daughters have theirs. You could also do one with her birthstone as well. I remember feeling so special wearing it as a child as my mom would only let me wear it on special occasions. She kept it for me so I would not lose it. I wore mine on my wedding day.

I have the charm bracelet my grandma made for me. I haven't added to it, but it is still very special for me. She sat and told me about each charm on the bracelet every time she added one so that I remember what they were for. Special memories!
(Mine isn't worn, just to keep as special.) I also have the one she did for herself.

My first diamond ring, grandmother gave to me when I was 6. I had it sized when I was 13, and can still wear it but am saving it for my daughter to have someday.

Her Pandora bracelet. Of course you could get her a traditional charm bracelet, but I find the pandora concept easier because the charms screw on rather than having to be soldered on. Just a thought. My mom wanted to get the two granddaughters a charm bracelet and this is what type was easily accessible to her. I know a lot of people don’t care for Pandora.

Probably not much. I am afraid she will lose it and it is just for fun. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and stories. I just want to see what is available for a little girl. I will not give her anything expensive now as she will lose the jewellery. Whatever I have will be hers in the future.

She is quite interested in jewellery. When she was ten months old, an old man sang to her. She just kept looking at the old man's jade ring as he moved his hand up and down. When she was eight months old, we went to Las Vegas. She saw the million dollar pieces in the window, her eyes were wide opened and she dropped her pacifier.

My dad always got me jewelry or perfume when he traveled for work all around the world (which was several times a year). The jewelry was usually from Tiffany's or a local place (my favorite). I cherish all of those items to this day (I'll be 30 in Feb). He would also get me porcelain dolls to add to my collection. I'll be honest, I have no clue what happened to all of them but the jewelry I still have and the perfume I used and kept the bottles. I have about 30 different jewelry items and about 20-25 different perfumes from him. It was "our" thing. I have a few diamond studs, a bunch of amethyst rings (my birthstone), diamond pendants, bracelets, etc..

If your daughter is 7 and has pierced ears, I'd recommend getting her small diamond studs. My first pair were about .25cts each and I still wear them to this day! I remember when he brought them home from Saudi Arabia, they were in the most intricate little box, I was SOOO excited. I was 6 years old and still remember!:kiss2:

Now I'm missing my parents! Can't wait to see them over Christmas break <3

My niece loved jewelry when she was a little girl, and told my mother which of her rings she wanted when she got older! I bought a ring or two for her, and when she started playing in the regional youth orchestra I got some very nice, small WF diamond studs that would be appropriate for "dress orchestra" occasions. Five or six years later she still hasn't got her ears pierced, and for now anyway she shows very little interest in jewelry.

Just a reminder that interests and tastes can change wildly as kids are growing up and into their own.

(This spring I finally gave the earrings to a dear friend's granddaughter for her high school graduation. She's had them in every time I've run into her! My niece will be getting her B.S. this spring, probably with her ear lobes intact. If she ever gets her ears pierced I'll get her a nice pair of studs that are appropriate for wherever she is in life at that time!)

I guess it depends on her personality. As I mentioned, the first diamond studs that I got at 6 years old, I still wear to this day. I love my dad and cherish anything that he gives me:kiss2:

ETA: also, as I mentioned, my dad was always traveling for work and rarely home. So perhaps that's why I cherished his presents a bit more? Who knows!

Look for cheap small children's sized rings with gemstones and 9K or 14K gold or silver on Ebay that would be a great place to buy inexpensive Asian made coloured stone rings. Or you can find some often beautifully crafted inexpensive handmade things on Esty as well.

I am lucky that where I live there is a store called "light years" that has a ton of sterling silver and gemstone jewelry, at reasonable prices. I would try to find a place like that and let her pick something out she likes. For example they have a whole section of sterling pendants of different gemstones including amethyst, and you pick out your chain separately.
My older daughter loves opals. So I'm going to get her a silver and opal ring at some point.
