I'm trying to put together an xmas wish list & could really use a jewelry organization system of some kind. But never find one I like. Just curious if any of y'all fellow Hoarders or Fickle Pickles have any faves you could recommend?????? :wink2:

FWIW -- I did a forum search already & came up empty ... Also searched ETSY for inspiration. Nada. THANKS!!!

I prefer to use a combination of the hanging things with the pouches and thenthe trays like Container Store has (though I actually got mine somewhere else). I have a bunch of nice jewelry boxes, but keeping everything in a separate pouch has worked better for me in terms of being able to keep things in jewelry bags so they don't tarnish, find what I need, wear it, and put it back instead of leaving it lying around the house. I also find it a lot easier to expand storage with this system than with jewelry boxes. I dunno, jewelry boxes seem like a good idea, but in reality have never been that practical for me. I keep my second most-worn rings in a small one on my desk (my most-worn rings are on a ring stand), but my big jewelry box is consigned to a top shelf to look pretty.

I have the Pottery Barn McKenna armoire. It's the only thing I ever found that I actually like and that also fit with the style of my bedroom furniture (I have antique white stuff from Pier One). It has several removable pieces that can travel so that's kind of a plus except they're not super light. It's a pretty substantial piece and has held up with everyday use for several years now.

I've asked DH to make me one for Christmas! I googled "DIY Jewelry Organization" and saved several pictures that appealed to me.

I have a lot of (entirely cheap and non-precious) earrings and necklaces that I would like to be able to actually see and consider wearing, so something like one of these would be perfect for me:

Thanks for the suggestions! I did find a couple old threads & they brought up some good points to about maybe not keeping everything in one place ... but ... gah

I can't decided if I'm a visual displayer -- or a tucked away neatly hidey holer. I'm wary of displaying nicer earrings - not so much for fear of being stolen, but fear of them dropping off onto the floor & being batted away forever by a cat. Maybe a nice little box for hidey holing and a visual display system for the rest. What about watches and cuff bracelets?

I'd love to see other people's solutions & ideas too .... jump in, the water's warm & pee-free!

HI:

I have yet to find "one" that it "perfect", therefore I resort to several "piles" everywhere :loopy: .....if you find a good one let me know!

cheers--Sharon

My dad made me a gorgeous wooden jewelry box for my 21st birthday and I really like the set up. The top opens and there are 18 small divided box areas where I keep rings and earrings. Then there's a drawer on the bottom with larger dividers where I keep bigger necklaces and bracelets.

My dad also made me a long peg board with small pegs where I hang my non-fine jewelry necklaces. I haven't hung it up since I moved but I had it hanging in my walk in closet at my old house. I have tons of necklaces (I went through quite the necklace buying phase a few years ago) and it's definitely the best way to store them for me. Plus that way I don't forget what I have! (Unfortunately I don't have enough fine jewelry yet to forget what I have! :cheeky: )

I have this same one and I love it. I've even considered taking out the individual pictures and just putting a larger photo or piece of art. I really love that it is up off of the floor or dresser and doesn't scream jewelry box.

If you are looking for a nice leather jewelry box, I like this brand.

There is a 50% off code floating around as well... I think it is Holiday50
