I need a new jewelry box or boxes or whatever. I had one that hung on the wall in my closet but left it with the house because I didn't like having to stand in front of it to see my jewelry. So, how do you all handle this?

Sometimes I have extra people in and out of my home so I don't want to keep my good jewelry in a regular jewelry box on the dresser or anything that obvious. I want something that's easy to hide or something that does not look like a jewelry box. Maybe more than one, to split it up for additional security.

I will also get a small home safe for my new place but a lot of my pieces are pearls, which I'm told do not do well in the dry air of a safe for very long.

I was thinking of a cute jewelry box on the dresser for costume or less expensive jewelry. And something more hidden or disguised for the better stuff.

Any ideas for me? Pics are most welcome!

There are lots of pretty and fun choices for jewelry boxes!

Stackers come is many different sizes and don't cost a bundle:

Wolf are classic and very well made, with lining that helps keep your silver pieces from tarnishing. Like Stackers, they come in many different shapes and sizes:

I've always been fond of boxes from Smythson leather, though they are very high end:

Another idea is an antique jewelry box (or glove box). Some interesting ones can be found on RubyLane and 1st Dibs:

Hope this provides some inspiration.

(Also, I think there is a PS thread on jewelry boxes.)

Here's one earlier jewelry box thread. Perhaps there are more?

I'm thinking about something like the one below. Or maybe more than one of them. They're meant for travel but it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep the jewelry storage on a hanger in the closet. Maybe with a coat over it for a little added security.

To me that particular roll one looks too time consuming to unroll and re-roll every time you wanted to put on a piece of jewelry. I like to take out or put back my own jewelry in seconds. Otherwise I'd be deterred from wearing jewelry, or changing it as often as I do.

I think the hanging one you posted first looks a lot easier to use as long as you don't fold it up every time.

Good point. I like the ones that hang on a hanger.

I see you have made a choice but I thought I would offer what I would like to do done day.

I want an area in the wall behind a mirror or painting. Pinterest has ideas.

@GoldenTouch - Thanks. I love that idea!

So do I, “hidden” but easy to get at & see what you have.

The recess is quite deep in walls & I think it wouldn’t be too hard to line it out. Even if cheaper parts (ring compartments etc) were bought on amazon & fitted in place.

I don’t change my jewellery as often as I’d like because I can’t see it all & I need to open so many boxes.... I find it annoying really.

I love all these creative ideas. One caveat please. Be careful and never leave the house with any valuables vulnerable to theft. You just never know and even safe areas can be hit. I always put my jewelry in a safe when I leave the house. Always. Hiding it isn't sufficient. You need to protect your valuables. That is my PSA of the day. Sorry for the interruption and please carry on with these beautiful jewelry storage ideas.
