I am SO EXCITED to see it! Sadly it didn't come with a chain, and we wanted to see it before buying one (just to make sure we pick an appropriate width, style, etc). So likely no neck shots (or maybe some awkward ones with a "temporary" chain from stuff I already own), but hopefully we can get a platinum chain to match over the weekend or asap! And I will certainly be posting a TON of pics.

Yayyyy! I've been waiting to see how this turns out!! Looks gorgeous so far!! Can't wait for more pics! :appl:

Oh-- I would've asked them to pick a matching one. They do have a good eye for these things.

Post lots of pics! I can't wait :)

PS they are making my ering so I am excited :)

Just opened it!!! The packaging is art in and of itself. And my family surprised me by getting a chain from him as well :)

Don't know why some are sideways, and sorry for my horrible hands! But I am overwhelmed with how amazing it is, and how much it sparkles. I need to take neck shots soon!

That has to be one of the most beautiful pendants I've ever seen    The colors are perfection! It seems to practically glow in the last few photos. Congrats!

Congrats, what a beautiful wearable piece of art!!!!

Truly a gorgeous piece of art!! It looks gorgeous on you, too!congrats!!   :appl: :appl: :appl:

How amazing! I love the colors used and the gradient it was done in ! What's the size?

Thanks, all! In terms of size, it's similar to the size of a quarter or a bit bigger, but certainly has a much larger presence than that due to how sparkly it is, and how the colors seem to pop whenever the light hits it. I was worried that it would seem too small for the price, but definitely don't feel that way anymore!

EDIT: they just sent me the "glamor" shots from their studio pics. My family told them not to send them to me before I opened it (in order to keep the surprise). This shows the incredible detail far better than my crappy Note 5 camera.

Congratulations what a beautiful pendant :appl: .

Amazing craftsmanship and such beautiful colours! What stones did they use?

I have been waiting for this :appl:
The pendant looks amazingly chique on you! They did such a great job on it. The play of colours is amazing. Great craftmanship.
I love that this is a piece that you can rock with a little black dress, as well as with jeans or at work. Super versatile. Enjoy wearing this beauty!

       thats so amazing! Love the color graduation of the stones!

The piece itself is simply gorgeous in every detail. The specialness of the journey and what the piece celebrates is truly icing on the cake. Congratulations on both fronts. What a lovely beginning to an heirloom!

It looks amazing on you- it's just beautiful.

Amazing design! Hopefully it will be done in time :)

PS. Did you ever figure out the import tax issue?

Thanks for asking, ROL! I actually ended up calling US Customs to make sure, since I wanted to tell them an accurate budget and 6.5% on top of the purchase price would be significant. Happily the customs agent checked everything and said that he's pretty confident that it falls under the US--AUS free trade act and therefore won't be subject to the 6.5%. He specified that in order to qualify for the free trade act a few things need to be true. 1) The materials need to be sourced in AUS, OR 2) The materials need to be "substantially transformed". He explained that in the case of custom jewelry that's made to order (like in this case), it's completely fair to consider that a "substantial transformation". He also said that it's safest and less of a hassle if the jeweler is able to say what proportion of the materials were sourced where (e.g. gold from Italy, gemstones from AUS, etc), and then explain that the materials have been "substantially transformed".

Sorry for the long explanation, I just wanted to update you and hopefully help anyone else who has the same question!

Hi lovedogs! Congratulations on your pendant! The colors are beautiful and the packaging is exquisite! Would you mind saying whether you ended up having to pay the 6.5% custom duty? I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Congratulations!! What a stunning one of a kind piece.

Got to be the nicest orchid I have ever seen
You may consider adding a pin to double as a brooch?

Wait.
What’s this now?
How in the WORLD did I miss this first time round!?

OMG, @lovedogs, we need a few thousand more photos of this!!
Majestic. Fantastical. Riveting... I like your photos better than the glamour shots.
What a way to ring your thirties in!
